I certainly hope they do something with flight speeds. Thanks to ED, players no longer have the option of maxing out their flight speeds - it's impossible to hit the cap now. Really takes a big bite out of Hover as well. Considering the insane movement ability one can get out of Combat Jumping/Super Leap and Hurdle, taking the alternate approach of slotting the heck out of Hover shouldn't be penalized.
Statesman did say they were looking at doing something for Hover/Fly way back when ED first hit. It's anyone's guess when they'll get fixed, though. From what I've gathered, these changes take months to implement internally with all the multitasking going on.

Earlier it was stated that travel powers were overlooked regarding ED and that they would be looked at. I since have pm'd Statesman regarding this and got two responses neither of which were particularly encouraging. He never said it wouldnt be looked at just that it hadnt been looked at.
I enjoyed six slotted hover immensely. It made battles fun. The base speed of flight and hover should seriously be boosted. -
I would just so looooooooooooooooove to use pistols like a Malta Gunslinger.. thats all I want.... would be perfect to finish off my origins and storylines..

This is still one of the best nrg/nrg guides and in all hnoesty ED didnt totally break this guide. All I did was add a recharge into the powers I use most often to offset the fact hasten was no longer perma. The key is not to go over 3 slots in any one enhancement if you can find a better use for it somewhere else. I still have four damage slots in Snipe and Power Blast and even though I am only getting 4-5% boost it does put me over 100% and i couldnt find a better use for the slot somewhere else. Conserver Power which I rarely use has three extra slots that arent helping the recharge time much so I will probably use them on Stealth and SS to reduce its end use a little more (I tend to run stealth and SS all the time even when flying).
One of the keys I found is to test like mad. Get a respec if you dont have one already copy your toon to the test server and play aroundand find what u like.
One thing I found about NRG. You will find many different styles of players. I hate the aggro from AoE attacks so the only one I have in my arsenal is Nova.. If I AoE I want you dead. However others do very well with the NRG Torrent, Explosive blast Combo. Some dont like blapping. I tend to blap when necessary.. or when I can sneak up on a boss with Power Boost, BU and Aim and WHALLOP a boss on the dome and stun him for a good 15-20 seconds. He then gets a Bonesmasher and Power Burst for his trouble.. Followed by a Power Push and a Snipe lol.
A lot of what you will slot is about play style. Airhammer obviously likes fighting in the air. So I tend to be waaaaaaaaay out of melee range most times but with Boost Range almost no one is really out of my range. Its always fun to see my team go JEEZ when I shoot stuff from really really far away. -
Id like to thank you for this post because I noticed that I am running out of end like mad. I didnt spec in end redux into a lot of my attacks and I need to make the switch from being pure brute NRG force into more of a DPS fighter, which I dont think I will have a problem with. I still have hasten, stamina and conserve power six slotted. I will take three slots off conserve power and probably place them on power boost or on some other area where it will benefit me more. Airhammer is still a good toon. Not as powerful as before but as Jim Kelly said in Enter thr Dragon.

Look back in this post and see Snipe's build. He is energy/elec and my wife is a level 42 Nrg/Elec. All I can say is this.. Shocking Grasp and Shocking Bolt ( the new Epic Power for Electric Blaster ) will be your very very new bestest friends.

at level 41 now.. thinking about bonesmasher or this new double BU+AIM+EB combo I have been reading about. Will the double EB at least take out minions really well ??

Just revisting the post. I am now level 39 almost 40. Amazingly two nights ago I was on a team blasting and sniping away (I have become a master with snipe ) with another nrg blaster and they person asked me.

That was about the coolest thing that has ever happened in game.
I love being on teams now. My regular friends know I can take a boss out pretty quick. Its cool to hear them say.. Yo Air.. boss.. or Yo Air Void/Quantum... and I am like " Check ".
We were on a team with a few Khleds and they were all worried about the voids. We were really far away looking down and I was like you want me to snipe him from here ?? They were like you can snipe him from here ??? I was like NO ONE is out of my range..
Aim Build Up, Boost Range, Snipe.. Hover in close ( what suppression ?? ) Power Blast, Power Bolt.. and the coup de grace Power PUSH.. oops on your butt again??.. Heres another Snipe for ya.. BLAMMMM> dead....
They were like.. dag.... -
All I want is a Dev to confirm whether the Fear affect that is currently on Live is a bug or not. I have seen some posts say it is a bug. I would like official confirmation.

This was one of the hardest sets to define. It falls out of line with the "normal" Defender sets. It isn't a buff set, its a debuff set. Its really a different playstyle than Defenders have had before.
For those who complain that the Archetypes who have the fewest sets were overlooked... the next planned powersets are melee based.

You could easily add a health buff or a resistance buff explaining it as a syringe type effect that boots health or recovery etc etc. -

I just dont get this. The major concern is that the fear affect is overkill. No one is saying it didnt need damaged lowered and most people said the recharge is manageable. Just that the fear affect is overriding.
And the responses are ignoring this factor. Its too much change in the OTHER direction. This isnt Balance. -
This is my take.
You have simply ruined the power. you have changed it to the point where it is not usable. Not because of lowering the damage. Not because you have increased the recharge time. Because the fear affect overrides everything. The fear affect that it has on love is just fine. Some guys run. Some guys stay.
I dont know whether this new fear effect is a bug or not. I suspect it isnt. Basically you have taken a melee range power and character and made a power that simply scatters the mob.
I remember just 4-5 months ago when you were going to nerf burn and turned it back because fire tanks had less resistance and you the devs stated that fire tanks do more damage to make up for the fact they have less resistance.
Then you added the fear affect with OVERRIDES Taunt, Punchvoke, and the taunts we can put in our powers.
Issue 4 burn is workable. Issue 5 burn is TOTALLY useless.
And I am speaking as a level 30 fire/fire tank who actually USES and slots his secondary. But the new Burn moves them so far out of melee range NONE of my other powers reaches them effectively. I must now run around to attack. And in all honesty I feel the recharge is a wee bit too long so I guess ANOTHER character will be forced to take Hasten now.
I have to use TWO power pools just so I dont get knocked on my can all the time AND so I can get some decent defense. Now one of the mainstays of the character is being gutted to the point where it is TOTALLY FREAKIN USELESS ????!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Plain and Simple. This goes live. I quit. Period. After nerfing my Grav Controller, My Inv Tank, Fire Tank, and affecting my Storm Defender, Rad Defender and Blaster and my SR scrapper got WORSE not BETTER I simply state that I have been fooled, hoodwinked and bamboozled long enough.
And you know what I used to actually think you guys cared.
I realize now that either you dont care or you dont have a clue.
Sadly it just might be both. -
So lemme get this straight He HATES the stores in Talos and Independence Port ?? Why because we can buy SO enhancements there and make our characters MORE effective which is actually FUN.
This to me is a stupid change and a stupid waste of time and effort.
Basically this is what I see. We want to make the game more challenging and harder not because it is more fun to play but because it makes you spend more money.. Period.. -

I am pissed about the SS change.. It sucks and to me it affects blasters the most. I am beginning to think in all honesty they dont like blasters. No defense, no resistance, low hit points, the second most damage, and now u cant even use SS to get yourself in a good attack position.
Oh but you have distance ( and the enemies often outdistance you too )
This is starting to suck.. Just when I get my character to a playstyle that works for me.. they alter the freakin game. I am tired of this crap. -
I havent played my Grav/Kin since the Winter Lord event and I doubt I will until they make a serious change to a sucky powerset. I stand there and watch Ice and Earth controllers and just go WOW.... see how they actually CONTROL...

Here is my problem with the range statement. My range as a blaster is LESS than most of the range of the villians. They can shoot me from far away but I must move closer to hit them. I have an NRG/NRG blaster with boost range and to me that should mean I can shoot most think from really far away.. not so.. it more or less serves to balance the distances. Now what about blasters that DONT have boost range.. They get shot.
I do think defenses should be boosted a little since blasters can wind up drawing a lot of aggro. I would also like to see built in resistances in secondaries.. Make the fire blaster less vulnerable to fire and cold. Same with the Ice Blaster. Make the Electricty take less damage for Electricity and Energy.. Make the NRG resistant to NRG and Smashing..
Also the reality is that most of the secondaries DO NOT help a ranged character. Devices and NRG are ok but Fire.. ugh.. I would hate to be a fire/fire blaster..
The Blaster AT does get ignored post 35.. I have a hard time getting on teams. I also hate being mezzed by everything under the sun.. that sucks royally. I dont expect to get defense vs that but do SOOOOOOOOOOO many villans have to have so many effect like that ??? -
I hear that I am trying to find an extra slot so I can get it up darn near instantly.
