My Tank Mindset...
I am the tank.
I am the line.
It starts with me.
It ends with me.
I am the fool who rushes in.
Where wise men fear to tread.
I am Heatstroke level 50 Fire/Fire tank. I will kill you before you hurt my team.
I am Excalibur Level 50 Inv/Nrg tank with Perma Dull Pain. I will laugh at you while you try to whittle down my massive hit points and get through my soft capped defense while I taunt and entice you to attack me while my team takes you down.
I am Apex Level 50 WP/SS tank with Rage set on Auto. His motto.. Beat me if you can.. Survive if I let you. Sure you can try to kill me but the ridicolus regen I have will make it hard and the ridiculous stamina means I can do this all day buddy...
I am Avalance level 50 Ice/Stone tank. Bewteen taunt. chilling embrace and icicles you might not even realize there is a team. And between Fault and Tremor I can either keep you nicely stunned or flat on your back.. You chose.
I am ShellShock level 50 Elec/SS tank. I tank those things other tanks are scared to do. Malta ?? HA Cant drain my end.. but I can sure drain yours. Carnies ?? No problem sign me up... Sure Toxic and Dark bother me some.. but with Energize almost perma like Gloria Gaynor, I will survive...
I am Majestic Level 50 ShieldSS tank. Ill be too bisu looking good whiltry to take me down but since I am soft capped to almost everything its sure gonna be hard.. especially when you are either knocked down my my shield or footstomp... -
The Devs suck..
The Devs dont listen...
The Devs dont care...
oh wait....
YAY DEVS !!!! -
I honestly think I am going to cry with happiness !!!!!
My fear was that people would totally abandon redside because the blueside market was better.. -
Is it just me??? This thread makes no sense...
-
Give mercs the ablity to swap ammo like Dual Pistols...
-
Ive skipped them if I dont like what the PPP gives or if it just doesnt fit my character concept. Neither of my Brutes, both my MM's have a PPP. My Corruptors, VEAT and my Dom all have them.

Quote:River my plan is to take them all the way blue and then fall back to vigilante status.. All my villians were written as undercover heroes.. and I suspect many heroes will do the same as well and play both red and blue side..I'd like to say I spent the exact same amount of time playing on blue side as I have red side in this experiment, but that would be a lie. I've spent about 25% more time red side and am much less than 25% along on the build.
Yup...this is my fear about GR in a nutshell. Not that any particular Red Side AT will be effected but that a max "Berlin Wall" type exodus will happen in the Rogue Isles. There really will be no reason to play Red Side. Blue side is much more enticing. Which is sad because I think villains have the best story arcs. But the Economy sucks and there are few players(making teaming harder). Just like in the real world people will flock to where the money and opportunities are. -
Quote:hmmm i might need to look at this a remake my Grav/Kin controller into a Grav/NRG Dom..I'm hoping to bring my Blue-side buddies to the Red Side, but I may have to compromise and go blue. Personally, I know my dom is going to wreck stuff just as savagely as she does now. Grav/Energy, the much maligned combo, actually makes for a fiendish combination of damage plus hard and soft controls, and the bubble is the best AI-controlled pet in the game, bar none.
Yes, some of the mezz-resistant mobs used to really cheese me off back in the day, but at 50, I can slap down anything boss-sized or under, with just one exception: Carnie Illusionists. The rampage is coming, rest assured. -

Dominators originally did more damage while domination was running and less when it was off. To eliminate that On/Off feeling the devs buffed Dominator base damage a while back and removed the damage increase from domination. Now the dominator does more damage all the time and I believe its values are higher than a corruptor.

Quote:This !!!!Personally, I don't enjoy playing low level characters. I love endgame content and doing ridiculous things on IOd toons that I didn't think possible. With such builds, most of my toons become notably more gimped at lower levels, so I rarely malefactor down. (Unless it is to a lvl 45 mission). I am addicted to playing superpowered IO characters- that is my idea of fun. To each his own. I can't wait for Incarnate lvls.
-
Im bringing all my villians hero side and then having them fall back to vigilante status as this was their background anyway. Their faction is called THUGS aka The Hero UnderGround Society so it makes sense for them to be undercover heroes but there was no GR then so I couldnt actually play it out.
I love Doms. I like controllers as well, however I enjoy the Dom playstyle much better. Many of my friends that I play with have no idea about villain side AT's at all. I think Doms are going to surprise a great many people and hopefully it will lead to a rise in the population. -
I am planning to bring my dominators to rogue status so I can play them hero side as well as villian side. Many people I have talked to seem to know little about Doms. Doms are apparently one of the least played and I think misunderstoof AT's.
What are your thoughts on ths ?? -
Never. Im always tweaking always looking to make something better and I currently have 35+ 50's... soon to be more one GR drops... Always looking at IO/HO combinations and how I can better a power or improve a toon.
In fact I am looking over all villains now in anticipation of Going Rogue.
Not a real badge kind of guy unless it leads to an accolade, and I dont even have all those. -
been waiting for years for this.. im rolling it day one !!!!
-
I Like the villian epic better in many ways. Im definitely making another dominator going to 50 and THEN going to turn him rogue. Technically all my heroes are undercover villians so they should go all the way hero and then fall back to vigilante but that is just way too much work.

One of the things that always gets me about the " healer " issue is simply that so many teams wont even TRY to do anything without a healer. Many times a healer is simply a safety blanket or my greatest fear, a license to play wild and loose because there is a healer.
The other thing i cant stand is the "micromanaging mother" healer. I was on a team with my level 50 Rad/Mental Blaster and I was the only blaster on the team. The healer starts in with this.. Ill keep an eye on the blaster blah blah blah.. make sure you dont get too far away.. yadda yadda.. after a few minutes of that crap I was like..
Look. I dont need you.. Ive played this guy to level 50 so I know what I am doing. Your RA's. Ive got Drain Psyche I can heal and buff myself. Plus i have trays full of green and blues.. If I die.. Ive got wakies.. If Im stunned Ive got break frees and because Im Rad/Mental I can STILL throw out three ranged attacks if im stunned or held..
So please stop worrying about me the poor lil old blaster and please stand back as I go kill that whole mob over there with Build Up Aim. Irradiate, Psychic Shockwave and THEN my Nuke.. -
This my build on live.
It a lil over 30% melee defense, but haa lots of regen and recovery built in.

You have to realize something. You say why cant they get a new power for once...
There was a time there was no Plant, no Thermal, No Cold, No Trick Arrow.
So controllers HAVE gotten new powers.
