  2. I would love it of this game had the ability for me to choose knockback or knockdown.

Then maybe I would pick powers like Lightning Clap or ThunderClap. Maybe I would take Thunderstrike more often. Maybe I would actually play my PB more.

My higher-level characters can't wait for the extra challenges and rewards from Alpha Slot/incarnate stuff.

And a shameless plug for GR: probably the best money I've yet spent on CoH/V - and I've been playing since 2007! Loving every feature so far, and i19 seems to add so many more Q0L (merged monorails/ferries stands at the top) features... yay!

Finishing with a question (which I hope I can ask): so when is it coming? Halloween? US Election Day? Day between? Or... Soon™?
Im with you I have a lot of respecin to do and have put off making any new characters unil Issue 19 drops.
  4. Sonic. Hands down. I had a level 50 Sonic and deleted it. Sonic just plain sucks. It is basically a FF clone with resistance instead of defense. The worst part is that the main AoE -res power has to be attached to an ally making it totally USELESS solo. It should work like the Trick Arrow Disruption arrow as a Location AoE but it doesnt. Also Liquefy is a horrible tier 9 power. Its timer is far too long.

You do realize that if you are satisfied with what you have that you do not need to change a thing/ Your character will stay exactly as is until you respec it. AFter a respec Fitness will become inherent.
  6. The whole powerset needs to be changed.. period.. It feels like a FF clone with resistance instead of defense with some cinammon sprinkled on the top.. and its not even name brand cinammon either..

  8. I really dont think there is a specific mentality because the reality I have found is that most people play more than one specfic AT.

One thing i always do when I am running a team is to see what powerset people are playing and usually I will VERY nicely suggest how to proceed. usually when people see that teamwork helps move the pace along better and keep the xp flowing they will tend to flow together better..

Remember this as well.. Individuals are often intelligent.. PEOPLE are stupid.
  9. Working on a Rad/Fire blaster that should have about 30% melee defense when I am done.. he should be a PbAoE machine !!!
  10. Im sorry but Liquefy is full of major suck IMO.. I had a Sonic defender and have never been so underwhelmed with a tier 9 power in my life. The fact that a Archer with an arrow can set up a sonic disruption field but MINE the friggin MASTER of sonic needs it attacked to a an ally is just beyond stupid.
  11. Airhammer

    Rad Blast

Its a very good set... Skippable powers.. If you dont like Snipes.. Skip it.. Most people pick either Electron Haze OR Neutron Bomb depending on build and secondary. I took both on my Rad/Mental but skipped Electron Haze on my Rad Fire who is more PbAoE focused.

    qft.
  14. I agree that Tesla Cage is too long. It was suggested by many during beta that they change to Shocking Bolt... They didnt...

Synaptic Overload actually recharges quite quickly IMO. It should be available pretty much every mob after some decent recharge is in it. Electric control is about the combination of soft control powers. Sleep them first.. then control them... easy....

The pets do leave much to be desired. I wish they had a simple electric blast and charged brawl and havoc punch. Their jolting chain often creates knockback which can be annoying. Their damage aura cant be made too big because it would draw much aggro as well as negate the sleep more than it already does.
  15. Im building a Rad/Fire that will have about 30 percent Melee defense since he will be in Melee a lot.

However his end bar will be a constant battle...
  16. I have a leve 50 Spines/Fire that has 33% defense and a prett decent recharge speed for healing flames. The Burn change made him even better. AoE... got lots of it.. Spine Burst, Blazing Aura, Burn, Throw Spines, Ripper...

Yeah he is good for AoE.. Im in deparate and overwhelmed there is always Self Destruction followed by Rise of the Phoenix.
  17. Im sorry but anyone who doesnt like this change is absolutely nuts IMO>
  18. Welcome !!! While Justice is my home server I play on Virtue a lot and it is a pretty friendly server with lots of teams and good SG's
  19. Depending on the particular AT I am playing Health gets either the deafult slot, 2-3 slots or six slots..
  20. One things I will tell you that you should do, definitely find out what are the better global channels on your server. This is where a lot of the event coordination takes place and a lot of the Task Forces, Raid and teaming happens over these servers.
  21. Welcome !!!

I have been playing CoH/CoV for very six years now. I never played WoW. I was never interested in being an elf or dwarf or magic user. I bought a new PC and was looking for a game to play on it and stumbled onto City of Heroes. What caught my attention was that I could make my own superhero. i played a lot of Champions, Marvel. DC and Villians and Vigilantes so this seemed right up my alley.

I had never heard of an MMO I had no idea what it was....

I remember logging in and taking hours working on a costume, powers, background etc etc..

Logged in at level 1 and did the tutorial and was running around Atlas park.. i got in a little over my head fighting level 5's and this level 11 AR blaster ran up and helped me out..

I was then I found out the BEST thing about City of Heroes.. the community...

I have people here that I have NEVER met in person and consider them dear friends. We have shared lives.. been through marriages. divorces. the birth of children. Laughed till we couldnt breathe..

We share things together that mean NOTHING to anyone else..

The Stamina song.. means NOTHING to anyone else but us..

Its Raining Numbers.. means NOTHING to anyone else but us..

Say Tentacles and we will break up in laughter....

its the COMMUMITY that makes this game as great as it is and keep us coming back year after year..
  22. Great now I have three different options to choose from...

Any thoughts from more experience Bots Players ??
