Jut recenly I logged in on a charcter, went into the RWZ and everything from my tray disappeared.

Id like another round of these as I didnt get to move any last time because I couldnt afford to open slots on another server. Now I would pay 40 bucks to open 12 slots to move some toons onto the server my entire SG and most people I play with moved to.

Quote:Because why would you want to throw a ho-hum ball of kinetics when you could throw a FORKLIFT?
Agreed that a faster animation would be nice, but really, Propel is half the fun of the set. My first 50 is a grav/EA dom and one of the most fun characters I've ever played; she gave me a great love of the Gravity set.
Also, disagreed on Wormhole being too complicated, but applying the stun at the beginning rather than the end of the animation would be a huge improvement.
The whole making objects and throwing them around is very fun at first. Then waiting forever for an image to be generated and then the attack hitting the target AFTER its been defeated on teams gets ANNOYING after it happens for the 30th time.
Now as I said I have no issue using Wormhole as I am used to it.. However I have seen iut used badly time and time and time and time again. No other stun works this way.. -
I have a DP/TA Corruptor at level 45 and I have to say it is one of the most fun things to play. It really really shines on teams.

I dont think you can balance it...

Love the way that Ultron 5 was the only one left.. I thought that was cool.. I was in my house talking to the TV saying.. take it out NOW !!!
This is an EXCELLENT series... I am sitting there with my 4 month old son telling him who everybody is .. etc etc...
My wife just shakes her head... -
I find that I enjoy being Gray.. All of my villians were originally written as undercover heroes. Even the SG name.. THUGS stands for The Hero UnderGround Soceity... It makes perfectly good sense theme wise for them to be rogue and to have the ability to move freely back and forth between Rogue Isles and Paragon CIty.
They can easily team with VIllians or Heroes. No matter what is going on in game on redside or blueside, they can take part.
I am rolling a MM who is a Thugs/Traps and he will be my first Vigilante. His story is that he grew in Kings Row, and got involved in the gangs around Paragon but after seeing his best friend hooked on Superdine and his life destroyed, and another of of his Oucast friends work went to work for Crey in Kings Row " disappeared " he decided to fight back.
Makes perfect sense to me.. -
I have done the ITF numerous times on my Elec/SS tank and I do not have any IO's slotted for defense other than Weave, CJ and a Steadfast Defense IO.
The trick I have found on the ITF is Energize. Use it... Use it like mad.. mine is almost perma.. Keep you regen as high as possible. I use Footstomp constantly to give me some mitigation. You should have about 50% resistance to Neg NRG and thats nothing to sneeze at.. Just defeat the cyst as fast as possible. '
It is more challenging for a ELA but certainly not impossible... And trust your team. A lot of Tanks I see tend to fight independently. Not telling the team what they are doing or what they might need help with. If you have an weakness vs something TELL THEM.. Let them back you up while you take the brunt of the initial aggro. -
I want to try something new with the x2 XP coming and I have played neither of these sets. Anyone have a build I can take a look at ???

Quote:Elec is far more than an one trick pony. Its just that the first trick you get out of the box as you stated is very very good.Funny, that's in some ways the opposite of how I'd describe things.
Elec, to me, feels very much like a one-trick pony. I put things to sleep with Static Field, and drain their end with Conductive Aura. But it's a very good trick. Static Field's pulsing sleep pretty effectively keeps minions and lts from doing much even if you're being AoE-happy, and even EBs can be end drained to mere shadows of their former selves. (AVs I have no experience with, but it seems a lot less likely to do much there.) Also, Static Field recharges fast enough that it can be used all the time.
(Jolting Chain and Synaptic Overload are, of course, also quite useful, but due to their mechanics I don't consider them part of my primary "make the enemy not beat me up" toolbox. And Paralyzing Blast is not very exciting for something with a 4 minute recharge.)
Earth, on the other hand, has a variety of interesting tools. AoE slow patch, AoE knockdown patch, AoE sleep, AoE disorient, PULSING AOE HOLD PATCH (in all caps due to being, quite possibly, the overall strongest AoE control in any player set). It also does a lot of defense debuff. But most of these have fairly long recharges and short durations, so you can't just focus on one way of controlling things. (Not until you've got reee~eealy good enhancements, anyway.) If one thing doesn't work, Earth is likely to have something else available to deal with a situation.
Static Field is an awesome power and I wish all sleeps were made similar to this. It also has fast recharge and the purples for this set are relatively cheap ( as purples go ).
Paralyzing Blast and Volcanic Gases are on the same timer actually. The difference is that Paralyzing Blast will hold for about 10-12 secs out of the box and the Volcanic Gas patch lasts for 60 seconds.. However the patch can miss foes but it does a good job after a few pulses of getting everyone.
Elec ability to drain a foes end cannot be understated because a foe that has little to no endurance will tend to use its weakest attacks to fight back which IMO is pretty much a debuff.
Also Synaptic Overload works very well and its on a pretty fast recharge as well. Most people have an issue with the chaining mechanic but if you slot one of the contagious confusion purples, this power becomes even better. -
I have never played Earth/Earth. I have an Earth/Fire and a Elec/Elec. What I can tell you is that Elec has more options for controls than Earth. The Elec conrtols are more " soft " controls that will recharge faster. Earth has more " hard " controls which are more reliable but dont recharge as quickly. /Elec and /Earth both have solid melee abilities. I think /Elec wins in the ranged category.
Both are solid however. -
I think it would be a good idea to give some Incarnate info on the loging page. At least something that shows what Incarnate ability is slotted on the toon when you mouse over it or on the same line where you have the AT info and Origin.

Ill be honest with you and just tell you that you have picked one of the lowest possible damage combinations amongst controllers. I have a level 50 Ice/Cold controller and he really didn't start doing any damage until he got Jack Frost as a pet and then the Cold Mastery pool.
For me Proc's are a very pool way to secure damage because they dont go off enough to actually make a huge difference.
However dont despair because you have a very very powerful control combination. You will excel at buffing your team with shields and Heat Loss is an awesome recovery tool. You will be able to buff your Jack Frost which will keep him alive longer. You will be able to debuff your enemies well with Benumb, Heat Loss, and Sleet, Infrigidate, and Snowstorm. You will be able to control the battle field well with Ice Slick and Artic Air.
Then at level 41 when you get your Epic you will be able to get some attack powers which will round out your character. Ice/Cold is a very lat blooming set but well worth the wait. -
Both always.. I take them on every single tank... without fail... More resistance and more defense is always a plus.
-
Its not about Dominators vs Controllers. ANd I dont think it ever needs to be. Dominators are still Beasts... and there are are controllers that are as well. And they may be a beast in a totally different way.. you cant tell me that a FIre/Rad isnt a beast or that a Ill/Rad or Ill/Cold isnt a beast. My wife plays a Mind/Kin that is a terror...
That being said I grow tired of the.. THIS vs THAT debates..
Each AT is valuable and can contribute on teams..
Dominators are a totally different kind of Beast.. and an incredibly enjoyable one...
Now if I could just decide whether to make a Ice/Thorn or Grav/Nrg Next I would be good to go... -
very sad to hear that. I wanted to give NRG a real try but I dont want to play Fire, Earth, or Elec as I have one of each already and I have no interest in Plant or Ice with NRG.
-
I want to make it clear.. I dont HATE the set.. I just would like it to get better and there have been improvements talks about for YEARS and we havent seen any... My fear is that its been on the backburner and its gonna stay there..
-
looking for another new dom.. I have found that I am looking at my controllers that I never really loved and looking at Doms instead...
I had a Earth/Thermal/Fire Controller that was ok but I never really loved it. I re rolled him to a Earth/Fire/Fire Dom and I absolutely LOVE him...
So I have a Controller.. a Grav/Kin/Primal. Its ok but I now find myself wondering if I would like him better as a Grav/Nrg/Nrg...
I know Grav's limitations as a control set and this is one of the reason I am think he would even be better as a Dom...
Thoughts ??/
Thank in advance. -
I usually dont make rant posts.. but with all the end game content being worked on and Going Rogue and Incarnates I have a concern that stuff that has been underperforming and languishing for a long time is being forgottem.
This set has sucked for a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time. It needs to be fixed. Seriously.. There has been talk about doing something changing animations etc etc for a while and it hasnt gotten a sniff...
There are some things it does well...
Gravity Distortion. Crush. GDF.... fine... SIngularity.. IMO the BEST pet in the game.
What does Gravity do wrong.
Wormhole is overly complicated, challenging to use ( although I think I use it pretty well), often annoys teamates and the stun being applied AFTER they come out of the wormhole often leads to getting shot up before anything happens.
Dimension Shift I believe is skipped by almost every Grav Controller I have seen. While situational, most skip it and most teams find it incredibly annoying.
Lack of quality soft control and debuffs that are separate from the controls. Most of the better sets have a good mix of soft and hard control. Gravity is all hard and therefore everything is on a long timer. . Earth has things like Quicksand and Earthquake, Ice has Artic Air. Gravity suffers in this respec and slow movement isnt enough.. it should have something like sizeable -recharge...
Propel... OMG.. one of the WORST powers I have ever used.. Long activation.. Long Animation.. Solo.. fine.. In teams the power usually huts the target AFTER its beendefeated because it too soooooooo long to generate that stupid image.. and fling it.. It was cool like 7 years ago to show what you could do.. but it really needs help.
Im watching Graviton on Avengers Earth Mightest Heroes and while I realize thats a cartoon and a great many things dont translate well...
Im like where is the anti gravity field.. Like an Ice slick area affect that makes foes Float UP....
Maybe I could have gotten some kind of defensive field that makes foes move slower as they approach me and reduces their recharge rate..
WHy doesnt Propel just look like a Mini Singularity that shoots out of your hand ????
Please dont overlook this set.. It needs a serious fix...
And while you are at it... FIX SNIPES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -

Ignore this thread.. Ive Decided to go in a totally different direction..

ill be honest... I have always thought that /Elec misses more than any other set I have ever played. It seems that way on every Elec Blast toon I have ever played. I have also learned that some of that is perception because unlike other powers that actually miss the target. Elec Blasts animation still hits the target and you notice the actual word "MISS" more often.
-
Quote:What power are you talking about that is missing so much. Some powers are not the same rate to hit to start out with. For example typically AoE immobilizes and holds have less of a chance to hit initially and therefore need more accuracy. So I rolled an elec/elec dom last night, slotted in +acc right away (as I do with all my toons) and noticed something odd....I am missing my targets. A lot. I have a 4/10 success rate on any power hit. I understand the whole RNG thing and watched the combat chat to see what I was rolling against what the baddies were, and by all means I should have been stomping around with a minimum 7/10 success rate.
Is this normal?
None of toons have ever run into this and seems to only apply to this one toon. I'm fighting level appropriate baddies with no change to skill level.
(also, I did remove the +acc enhancers and it made no difference.) -
Ice/Stone... the best of both worlds.. I have one.. its one of the best tanks I have ever made.
-
I just want them to make the Power Slide AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE already..
