NRG/NRG would be my choice as this was my first toon ever made and he excels at fighting from a distance.. I dont even use anything with ranged defense because most things do have anywhere close to the range that I have. I can hit them before they hit me

I have a very very good ranged Crab build and I am looking for a " Tank " build for my second build but have no idea how to go about it...
Any advice ?.. What to take?.. What to skip ?? -
I think I am doing something wrong. I am clicking on the Incarnate slot I have but I am not seeing any affects from the Incarnate showing up.
What do I need to do -

With Rare Spiritual Slotted... 4 secs from Perma Enegrize... 10 seconds from Perma hasten...
Very Rare Spirirtual should get me what I need... -
I find that my Elec/SS tank is very tough and as someone else pointed out its the perfect tank for all those level 50 Malta and Carnie missions in Peregrine Island. I have not built in any defense into him other than CJ, Weave and the Steadfast IO.
he stands at
81% Smashing Lethal resist
60% Fire.Cold. Negative and Psi
90% Nrg
and a whopping 3% from Toxic LOL
he as about 15% defense to all give or take a few points..
What makes him shine I think is that he has good resists all around and Foot Stomp ( or Ground Punch ) in his case is good mitigation.
I am also trying to move toward Perma Enegrize. I am pretty close I am hoping when I get to Very Rare Spiritual I will get there. RIght now I am probably 7-8 seconds off... That will be serious aid to survival. -

Most of my toons wont take Lore... even the ones that use pets.. I just dont like the idea and it doesnt fit well with most of my character concepts.

This set has been sub par for too long for them NOT to do anything about it
And dont give me that cottage rule crap because initially this set had no pet. It was changed to have a pet.

Starting from a position of 0 def and 0 resistance and trying to get significant numbers will gimp other aspects of your character.
I tanked the Mother Mayhem mission on my invuln without dying once. That's an entire map of psi enemies. If Dull Pain wasn't up, I used a single medium purple insp to keep the incoming damage at a reasonable level. By the time it was running out, I had either gotten another or gotten 3 of something else I could combine. Please note, my invuln has over 300% regen so when Dull Pain caps his hit points, the regen rate has a big impact. My thinking was that +regen works against *ALL* damage. And it works very well indeed.
Ice has Hoarfrost and Hibernate as tools to help survival -

I have been looking for a new PC as I cant afford a Mac ( really want a Mac ) and I have seen to many negative reviews abut places like CyberPower and Ibuy Power and I dont think I really want something like a Dell or Gateway..
I think I have about 1000 to spend ..People have suggested building my own.. and although I know somethings about computers I dont know if I have the skills to build one. I dont know anything about motherboard or chipsets, I know a little about video cards.. I know squat about power supplies or cooling systems..
Is this the way to go? is there something good out there.. I can buy for around 1000..should I be looking at AMD or Intel...
Any advice would be appreciated. -
I missed the last round of server tansfers and I would like the ability to move a good number of my toons to Virtue which is where most of my SG plays now. If not free I wish they would discount if you ordered more than one transfer at a time.

There is nothing wrong with shard drop rates. Its random.
I have gotten very few in a TF. I think in one ITF where we tried to wipe out all the mobs people had gotten 4-5 and I got one. I have been on a LGTF where I got TWELVE.
My average for the ITF is about 4-5. In fact in many cases I usually have gotten enough on my FIRST TF to craft my first Alpha with the Nictus Fragment.
I have gotten Shards solo. I have gotten them farming the street. I have gotten them in tip mission.
In fact I have gotten purple drops while soloing for shards several times which is fun !! -
The main issue with a Fire Tank is that it doesnt have a defense powerbuilt in that will help it softcap easier like many other sets do. My fire tank sits very firmily at 35% melee defense and beteen a massive heal that is up every 15-20 seconds ( and only going to get better with Spiritual Alpha ), and Lots of AoE Damage, I survive quite well.
I have some very very serious concerns about the " soft cap " going forward. I full expect to see more and more mobs that cut right through defense or whittle it down to nothing and people who are reliant on the soft cap for defense are going to suffer.
My focus is to look at what the character I am building does well. Go with that.. and then try to shore up what he doesnt do well WITHOUT sacrficing what he already does well.
For example I have seen build that left out key powers. Builds that took something and slotted it ridiculously just to get 1.88 defense in that last slot.. things like that..
Yet they have endurance issue and do less damage...
Fire/Fire Tank IMO are the... Ill get you before you get me tank... The ability for a Fire/Fire to take down a mob quickly is very functional to his survival, as is the ability to get that mssive heal up ASAP. I wont sacrifice that for a wee bit more defense.
