    As does my Dark/Sonic Corruptor. My DP/TA Corruptor is still thinking about it...
  2. You are really really going to miss not being perma dom.. By Earth/Fire/Fire has no defense built into it whatsoever. but when everything is held, stunned or flopping all over the floor.. It cant hurt me anyway.

    Bots or Thugs?

    I have a Bots/FF and a Thugs/Traps and I honestly dont think either is better. By Bots/FF is a tank build and the Thugs/Traps is more of a debuffing type of set. Both buils work very very well.
  4. I am thinking about a new Dom because that is my favorite AT. I have never played Earth Assault so that would be new for me. The ability to stack Hot Feet and Mud Pots on a Melee centric toon looks interesting. I will probably take /Fire as an ancillary for thematic reasons.

    Anyone have a build they would be willing to share or advice on what is skippable from Earth Assault ( right now it looks like Hold Bolder and maybe Tremor, because of the slow animation)

    Mercs/TA?

    I actually have one at level 50... Fun.. TA helps a lot.. Debuffs are more important that the controls given that Mercs are pretty much all lethal which is heavily resisted at later levels.

    I had fun with it.. then I rolled a Thugs/Traps.. and my Merc/TA was permanently retired.

    true but melee has a larger variety of mezzes that can hit you. generally speaking blasters simply out range alot of mezzes in game. or in the current game, simply kill whatever is causing the mez. with a blasters high damage and attacking through mez, it's not a hard to avoid mez on a blaster.

    this really seems to be your only argument against mez prot. the fact that simply because they haven't had it means they don't need it. which is complete bulsh. I guess stalkers or doms didn't need the overhauls they got either.




    As do I. however of those toons, none are melee oriented toons, and they all do what they're suppose to do better than kheld.
    Your controller with IW has chosen a secondary which will give him that.. which is exactly my point.. Controllers dont GET mez protection. That is a function of certain secondaries (Sonic and FF being the others I recall off he top of my head) certain secondaries do.

    The Controller AT doesnt get Mez Protection and you cannot get that until at least level 41. AND not every person who plays a controller will pick that secondary. I have numerous cotrollers @ leve 50.. none of them have that as a secondary... and they STULL function just fine.. and two of my Ice controllers are very melee centric...

    Mez does happen at range.. and it happens a lot.. Matla grenads throwers.. Freakshow sleeps and holds.. Carnies... yeeesh... Arachnos.. too... It happens...

    Mez is a part of the game.. the reality is that it CAN be managed.. and there are tools to manage it... there are break free's... there are IO's.. There is intelligence.. knowing what foes mez and how.. and taking them out first.

    Your dominator and stalker point makes no sense in the mex protection discussion to me..

    Id love to see the PB's get some love on the damage scale.. Id love to see them remove the knockback and change it to knockdown ESPECIALLY on Solar Flare. Id love to see Pulsar work on LT's more consistently. Although I dont use the forms I would LOVE To see them fix the form changing issue that has plagued so many for so long..

    However I dont see the need necessarily for the AT To get Mez protection. You have a blend of both ranged and melee attacks in human form. I use both.. And I do get mezzed.. and my blasters get mezzed.. and my controllers get mezzed.. and so do my defenders.. and my corruptors...

    But you have tools in the game to help you deal with it.. USE THEM... thats what they are there for.. now if you refuse to use the tools.. well...

    actually controllers do. and blasters have something semi-close that is at the very least reliable.

    and besides that, blasters, defenders, corrupters, and controllers, all have the ability and (while debatable) were designed to function at range and out of melee. human khelds really limit themselves by just sticking to range.


    a t1 and t2 attack chain is enough to outlast most mezzes. or at the very least keep DPSing while popping a BF.

    Controllers do not get Mez protection. A controller with certain secondaries can.. but by and large they do not..

    and the reality is that there is a simple little thing called a break free which will get you out of mez... use them.. I stock them on my toons that are susceptible to being mezzed. And they are pretty cheap.. seriously.. Mez isnt THAT big an issue anymore.. I remember when there was no BreaK Free.. you just had to stand there and take it...

    Blasters CAN function at range.. and guess what. you CAN be mezzed at range you know.. holds, immobilizes, fears and even stuns DO happen at range as well. Melee is NOT The only place where mez happens..

    I play an all human PB.. no forms.. didnt want them.. does he get mezzed sometimes.. yup.. pop a break free.. keep going.. problem solved..

    I can see a slight damage buff.. I can see the need to fix the issue switching forms.. Maybe im too old school and remember the original blaster that NEVER had defiance.. NEVER had shields.. and NEVER had break free's. And I learned to manage that.. so for me a Kheldian was like wow.. shields AND heals ???!!! So I can see my point of view is somewhat skewed..

    I also know that a lot of my toons have no mez protection whatsoever and they function perfectly fine... I just have had to adopt survival skills and coping mechanisms for different circumstances.

    They can only use their tier 1 and 2 when mezzed.. they cannot use their most powerful melee attacks while mezzed. They also dont come with two self heals and cannot get shields until level 41.

  11. Techbot while I agree with your premise I dont believe the AT needs mez protection. I play plenty of AT's that dont have mez protection and I play just fine. My personal opinion about mez protection is this..

    Oftentimes people start playing the game as a scrapper, brute or tank.. high defenses high to moderate damage. They have no idea how much mez exists in the game.. They get to 50.. they play a Kheldian.. oh crap... there is so much mez in the game.... I hate this... these things need mez protection...

    Now I will admit I started playing a blaster. I played him to 50.. I found out very quickly what mezzed and how.. and what to take out first.. and that was BEFORE break free's even existed and there was no such thing as defiance in ANY form...

    Again I play an all human PB... and the mez doesnt bother me.. Ive learned how to deal with it and work around it. And I dont think tyhe devs are going to add Mez protection to the non Dwarf forms.. I agree they need to do something about the switch into the form.
  12. Alread have a Fire/Psi/Fire and thats pretty awesome.. so I wouldnt do Fire/Fire/Fire... Not into the Plant thing.. just not my type of powerset.
  13. Why should Kheldians get mez protection? They have a form that protects them from mez should they chose to use it ( and I have an all human one ).

    Blasters dont get Mez protection. Most defenders and corruptors do not. Controllers do not. Most MM's do not either. All you need is some break free's and Mez is no longer an issue.

    Upping the damage would be an issue because in teams you would become overpowered. Then what happens when you figure IO's and Incarnate abilities as well.

    My all human PB already has two shields, two self heals, a god mode, and ability to mez minions and sometimes LT's and a self rez... And I use IO's which gives me another 15% damage buff and the Musculature Alpha Slot.

    I dont see them making any of the changes you suggested.. I agree that PB's need some love.. I just dont think thats the love they will get...

  16. I dont know if this will help you very much because I dont have a level up build. I do have my final build which is how he exists on live right now.. Exceptional toon.. and I took cages.. In fact I DELETED a level 50 Earth/Thermal Controller to make him and he is much much better..

    I also changed the fire breath animation for the one that shoots fire out the palm of the hand.. Looks great..

    IMO you dont want combustion. Animation is just too slow.. and damage is lackluster.. If you go fire APP once you get Fireball and Rain of Fire you will never use it...

    The issue isnt whether Ice has buffs.. Its that it doesnt have the buff that many people are looking for which is Heals.. RA's and Kinetics..

    Look, when someone doesnt want you on a team because you dont fit their ideal.. I usually count myself lucky as not being on that team.. I have found 90% of the time that I just missed out on being on TEAM STUPID that doesnt work together a a team, dies a lot and is looking for buffs to overcome their stupidity..     I got on a team once that said they were looking for a defender.. So I joined with my Rad/Rad.. I get YAY DEFENDER.. ok no more dying ( that was a bad sign right there)

    they were fighting some +3's so Im laying down the debuffs on the mobs and attacking..and we are starting to plow through them... but we are taking some damage ( although no had died since i joined the team )and the team leader screams at me..

    STOP ATTACKING JUST HEAL... I said well I have a lot of debuffs and... again the team STOP ATTACKING JUST HEAL...

    So I stopped attacking... and just threw out my very small AoE Heal...

    and the team died... everyone said wait what happened.. we were doing good..

    I said.. Oh well that was my fault..

    See I had Radiation Infection which is a 50% defense debuff and a 48% to hit debuff.. but I shut that off so I could just heal like the leader said.

    Then I had Enervating Field running which brought their reistance down 30% and brought their damage down 25% but I shut that off so I could heal..

    Oh yeah and then I was using Lingering Radiation cut their regen 500% and theire recharge rate 25% but i stopped doing that so I could heal...

    And I stopped using Irradiate which is another 50% defense debuff in an area and Neutron Bomb which is another 25% defense debuff in an area bcause I was told STOP ATTACKING JUST HEAL...

    OH and I stopped dropping Accelerate Metabolism which was buffing your damage 30% and yor recharge 25% well because its not a heal and I was told JUST HEAL...

    So wait classic here.. someone asks for the star so they can invite a friend.. and the leader was kicked LOL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. Seriously this isn't even funny to me anymore.. I am pretty much under the impression that this latest round of Incarnate stuff has ruined the game I loved for over 7 years. It is NOT fun when you do 29 trials in a row and get an uncommon each and every time. I have been getting uncommons for WEEKS across several different toons and AT's. Why does the Alpha have a way to use Shard and Salvage and the Notice of the Well to get to Tier 3 but the new stuff does NOT.. Why am I relegated to doing the same content over and over and over and over and over and over and over over and over and over and over and over and over and over over and over and over and over and over and over and over over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over ( thats 29 overs BTW ) and NOT gettiing ANYTHING I need to advance beyond Tier 2..

    And I dont want to hear about Notices turning into threads because I still wont have the rare salvage I need. I dont want to have to run 2-3 Trials a day to get the Emp Merit I need.. PLUS more uncommon salvage PLUS 100 Million influence PER SLot.. PER Toon.. That is NOT fun.. thats WORK and I already have a job.....

    Not to mention that I have to play in an lag filled, effects gone mad environment that is hell on my older PC which ran CoH just fine until recently. Now I am playing on the lowest settings and its still slow. Oh and the constant mapserving and disconnecting in the middle of a trial which is OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH so fun. and I KNOW it screw up that whole participation metric which then screws me so I get uncommons... AGAIN...

    Im sorry Ive been a loyal CoH fan for over seven years now.. but I do not like what I see happening. I used to get in.. play.. and at least feel like I am making progress when I played.. Now I feel like I am being screwed with when I play.. and that is not fun..
  23. Just carry break free's.. This why I love the fact a blaster was my first toon. I learned very quickly what mezzing was.. which mobs mezzed and how.. and how to deal with them.. and this was BEFORE break frees and defiance even existed.

    Seriously with all the tools in the game now, getting mezzed really shouldnt be that big an issue. Prepare for it and overcome it.. simple..

    I have an all human PB.. always been all human.. For me he is a blapper with shields, two heals and an unstoppable mode.. All Win Baby !!
