Quote:I have no idea what question you're answering, but it's not the OP's.2) Not applicable, as you can exemplar to level 45 and still have access to all abilities (including Incarnate abilities if you are a VIP) to level 50.
The OP is asking if the power the LOTG is in is grayed out from exemplar (for instance, their level 49 pick while exemplared to level 30), will the LOTG still work?
The answer is yes, if the IO is of low enough level to work due to the answer of the first question. -

1) yes.
2) yes.
So many of your questions are answered by a simple wiki search -
This.
Exploits involve basically breaking the game, or utilizing a flaw in the game to get UNREASONABLE rewards.
Farming and PLing don't break the game, and generally don't get UNREASONABLE rewards.
That's possibly why you have a disconnect with the relationship players have with exploits. Exploits are bad, for the other players and for the company. Farming and PLing are fairly neutral, and for some (though not even for all farmers/PLers) are actually good. -
This would be a freaking GREAT idea. Make the shard TFs worth something! Put the Rulu-Shin critters in there in a couple places just so that it makes thematic sense why you'd get those costume pieces.
I really want the face "feather" things, and the gloves, with and without eyeballs. They're awesome pieces. I could take or leave the chest piece; the skirt and boots are rejiggered existing pieces so I could easily skip those too. -
Where's those necro post macros when you need one?

Go into options and make sure tooltips are turned on. In the first tab, I think under Miscellaneous header.

Quote:You cannot combine the Refer a Friend deal with the Starter Kit.Okay, some people seem to be confused about what's being asked/proposed by the OP. Let's try this:
Bill has an active VIP subscription.
And, by extension, if Bill used the "refer a friend" program to tell himself about the game by using a second email address, and then uses the Black Friday deal to buy a month of VIP time on his second/new account for $0.99, does his first/old account get 500 points for having referred the second one?
Ted has never played the game before.
Bill uses the "refer a friend" program to tell Ted about the game.
If Ted likes the game and decides to use the Black Friday deal to buy a month of VIP time for $0.99, does Bill get 500 points for having referred him?
Or do the free points from the "refer a friend" program only kick in if the referred party buys their VIP time at full price?
I have said this before, twice now, and someone else has also explained it. [EDIT: and now a third person ninja'd my post as well!]
Let me explain it again in a story summary.
Bill has been a subscriber for X number of months/years/whatever. Ted just created his brand new freebie account today because Bill was talking about it at Thanksgiving. Bill sends Ted a Refer a Friend invitation.
Ted applies the Refer a Friend code that was emailed to him, to his brand new freebie account. Ted is required to input a payment plan, which includes paying for a month of VIP service, in order to continue with the Refer a Friend process. The Starter Kit is not an option for a payment plan. Payment plans are game time cards, credit/debit cards, and Paypal. If Ted does not agree to a payment plan, the Refer a Friend process is canceled.
In order for Bill and Ted to get their 500 pts each from the Refer a Friend, Ted MUST subscribe to the game.
In order for Ted to buy the VIP Starter Kit, Ted MUST NOT subscribe to the game.
Refer a Friend and VIP Starter Kit cannot be combined. They are mutually exclusive.
EDIT2: By the way, the Refer a Friend process does not include creation of a new account, which is downright stupid. You have to create a freebie account first, and then use the serial code on it. This is completely counter-intuitive, and I sent in feedback saying as much while I was doing this for my sister yesterday morning. It's just stupid that getting a referral code means nothing unless you have already created an account. And the error message when you try to apply a referral code when you have no accounts is ambiguous (something like "you have no applicable accounts" - um, hello! no kidding! I was just referred to play, thanks! create me an account during this process! duh) -
Once City is open, go into the options window, go to the last tab, and change your resolution to whatever your desktop is. You didn't say you did this step, so I'm just making sure it's not a PEBKAC issue.

Arbiter Hawk has raw data, which doesn't always match reality. Those numbers were actual tests done with the actual pets in the actual zone doing actual damage. :/

Quote:When the person gets a Refer a Friend code, it requires them to sign up for VIP time to activate the Referral. The Starter Kit is not an option for subscription when using Refer a Friend.Ok you confused me there, since the VIP starter kit does buy you a month of VIP.
Since it requires them to subscribe, they cannot use the Starter Kit. You can't have spent any money on the account before using the starter kit. -
Quote:In order to get credit for the Refer a Friend deal, YOU MUST BUY A MONTH OF VIP TIME.No the refer a friend works on premium accounts too, it works on anything that isn't VIP. If its a premium account the account has to not have been VIP for 90 days.
Since this deal is a subscription for a dollar, I think it could work.
In order to use the Starter Kit, YOU MUST NOT HAVE PURCHASED GAME TIME OR POINTS.
You have to do the Refer a Friend deal first, to actually refer the friend, which requires at least a $15 investment, which means you cannot do the Starter Kit. -
-
The Refer a Friend thing requires you to purchase a month of VIP to get credit, which removes the ability to do the VIP starter kit (you can't have spent any money on your account to use the starter kit).

Players and critters have a minimum regeneration rate of zero. Your numbers may go below that in display, but in actuality it doesn't matter because you can't regenerate slower than "no regeneration". There is no such thing in this game as "negative regeneration". You cannot LOSE health by going into negative regeneration numbers.
-
This is correct. TW is a premium set. Dark Control is free to VIPs and purchasable for Free/Preem. Darkness Affinity and Dark Assault IIRC are free for all, but I don't remember exactly.
-
OK. So, basically, the Refer a Friend deal requires you to sign up for a subscription on the referred account. I was going to do this anyway for my sister through the starter kit, but it looks like even at the start of things, you have to subscribe just for the Refer a Friend to take effect; this blocks you from using the VIP kit because you can't have spent any money on an account to use it.

Quote:Negative feedback is kryptonite to a powerseller on eBay. You have the recourse to severely hurt them (in their reputation, which matters very much to them) by contacting eBay fraud. If it says new and sealed, it is required by contractual law to be new and sealed.I'd still be wary. Feedback's easy to pad, and boxes are easy to re-seal.
(it's the same on amazon's marketplace) -
Those numbers are the DPS of the pets based on a tank taunting a RWZ pylon (doing no damage) while the pets attack, and how long it took the pets to defeat the pylon (or run out of endurance). So any buffs to pets are included if the pets cast any on themselves/each other.
Those numbers completely disregard what kind of DPS you, yourself, can add to the fight, either directly by attacking or by buffs. They are as close to raw numbers as you'll get. -
AFAIK, you can only have one non-consumable product active at a time on your account. So *I think* (grain of salt, please - I'm still waiting on a PM confirmation) if you buy the cheap Invention License, you won't be able to buy it again.

Quote:Buying enhancements doesn't eliminate the rest of the game, which is actually "playing the game". Making and slotting enhancements is a fairly minor part of the game, one that many people think is a tedious project at best.
If you eliminate the need to earn performance enhancing powers or enhancements, you eliminate the satisfaction that comes from playing the game.
Why do you think there is so much FARMING in this game (and every other game with high end gear)? So people get their stuff faster. A large number (possibly the majority, possibly not) of farmers don't actually enjoy farming... they're not doing something they ENJOY. That is a RIDICULOUS prospect in a pretendy fun time GAME.
There are a zillion things to do in the game that I would rather be doing than sitting at the market filling bids, sitting in my base crafting pieces, or farming for drops. Most of my characters don't use anything other than common IOs because I find it so frikken tedious. I don't get satisfaction out of putting IOs in my character's slots, I get satisfaction out of PLAYING MY CHARACTER.
If I had the money to spend on SBEs, you bet your bottom I'd do it in a heartbeat because then I could get to go do something I enjoy. And it shouldn't matter to you where I got my stuff, as long as I am enjoying myself. If I'm enjoying myself, WHY DO YOU CARE? -

On today's Ustream, Zwill said the copy tool will be back for I22 testing, but no promises on earlier, and he wouldn't say why it's been broken this whole time and why no one has fixed it.

Quote:That is a "professional" (to some people), paid JOB.Rare/Very Rare things are rare and very rare for a reason. They take time and effort to earn. Here's an analogy for you: We are playing a game, just like professional athletes. What if the NFL instituted a policy where players for any professional team could buy a Super Bowl ring, that counted just the same as those earned by players? Do you think the other players who actually earned their Super Bowl rings would be comfortable with that?
City is a pretendy fun time GAME.
Big difference there, bucko. -
Quote:Unless you are PVPing this mysterious Joe Lazy Guy, what does it matter how he got his stuff? Just be happy he's having fun, while you're having fun, and have fun together. Or, heck, don't team with Joe Lazy Guy, and he can have his fun without you, and you can have your fun without him. Or, heck, don't even ask him where he got his stuff, and then you don't have to complain about people saving time and spending money -- stuff that you could have bought too, but instead chose to save money and spend time. And so, because you don't have time, it means that those of us who made time because we wanted to have top enhancements for our characters now get to be told "Oh I know you worked to get that stuff in your build, but SURPRISE! Joe Lazy Guy with a 20 dollar bill can get 'em without any effort required!"
It's a slippery slope- Your argument can be applied to Incarnate content too. "I don't have time to get Incarnate salvage. Let me give you irl money for it!" And the same for badges, "I don't have time to collect badges, here lemme pay you for 'em."
Pretty much the trend this sets is that if irl money can be equated to things earned in game, the game loses all of its integrity. There is no point in actually playing the game if you can simply purchase everything. Now, I'm all for selling costumes, non combat pets, rocket slides, and all those other little trinkets that don't alter game performance. When it comes to this, though, I am not comfortable. -
Quote:You don't have to cancel to use this special. Once it's live, there will be a banner on the account management page (maybe only after you select a specific account, I don't remember) that you will click on that will take you to the special offer purchase page. This special offer is completely separate from the basic subscription renewal page (although it looks exactly like it).I think my yearly renewal hits during December. (I'll check when the Accounts page is avialable again.) Is that good enough to get the bonus months, or do I need to explicitly cancel and re-up?
Keep in mind that you don't have to pay for the special offer at the time you "buy" it. You only pay for it once your current subscription time has run out. IMO that's awesome and gives you a "grace period" for buyer's remorse.
