Quote:Nope, not at all.Motherboard: Are you planning on triple-card Crossfire/SLI'ing?
Quote:Suggestion: Don't waste money on an triple SLI/Crossfire board. There are boards better suited to your purposes that can be got cheaper.
My purpose is to have something that will be useful and relevant come 2016.
Quote:You may have to check that your 500W PSU has the proper connectors for your choice of video cards.
Thank you for your input. -
Just happened to me

The worst was where I was the dork
A 6 man pug Silver Mantis SF. The leader is running us on +4 unannounced. Says he wants it speed stealthed. Alright, kind of strange the +4 part wasn't mentioned ahead of time, but w/e.
People are dropping and there were several near wipes. A Spider and my brute are the toons I most noticed consistently staying alive and hitting the objectives.
We just finished the Disrupt Negotiations mish w/ all the Council and headed into to the longest mission, the kill all in Cap Au Diablo. Then in this order:I get stuck on a load screen
I didn't make it back on that night. So they had to roll into the two hardest missions of a +4 SF one teammate down. I didn't get complete a fun SF.
BSOD (loose sata cable)
Wife comes home with the kids earlier than expected.
That sucked.
I was loving it. -
Quote:They don't look bad. Very similar specs it seems. The ones with the same features do not offer pata connections. Which may be doable, but it would mean I have to buy new optical drives. So, Idki would go with one of these MB's:ASUS MB'S

Quote:I will look into those. Thank youi would go with one of these MB's:

Quote:I would go with one 3x2GB memory kit than two 3x1GB memory kits. First it's usually less expensive and second it's easier to get three sticks working with such aggressive timings (Cas 7) than six sticks. -
Quote:Thank you for your reply, Katie V.I'm not too happy with the layout of this mainboard. If the only expansion cards you're ever going to install are one or two graphics cards, you'll be fine, but if you go beyond that, it's got problems. In particular, one of the PCIe x1 slots is blocked by the northbridge heatsink, the PCI slot will be blocked by a second graphics card, and installing any card in the bottom slot will reduce the bandwidth to the second graphics card slot.
Thank you for noticing that. I hadn't.
I don't plan on using more than one graphics card at a time. When it's time to upgrade, I'll just get the best single GPU in my budget.
The only other thing I would be likely to put in is possibly a NIC. -
I think you may be allowed one per mish
I think
After that they act wonky -
I don't buy new rigs very often. the one I am using now I bought quite a while back--it's a Socket A with an AGP vid card.
What I am trying to do is create a system that will be useful and relevant for the next 5-7 years.
I would like a recommendation for a nice video card for ~$150 or less. I am not that picky about my video card atm. 2012 tax refund season, I will go nuts and spend w/e to get a nicer GPU. For now, I just want one that will let me play CoX w/o crying.
As a point of reference, I find my AthlonXP 3200, Radeon X1650, & 2gig RAM to usually provide adequate gaming power with all of CoV's graphic settings turned down to minimums.
Even though I am not a real graphics snob, it would be nice if my new machine could exceed current performance from the start--however it's not necessary as long as it's at least what I am getting now.

Have I missed any incompatabilities? Or any somethings that I could have done better for about the same price?

I think that a buff to WH would be acceptable, but I think I'd rather see a different change. I would like to see total focus and stun be adjusted toward one another to become more similar. TF would become quicker to activate than currently, but would do less damage than it does now, while stun would do more damage than it does now, but be a little slower to activate than it is now. TF would still do notably more damage than stun.
This might bring a little speed back into the set.
Bringing back the feel of quickness to EM would be the most pleasing change I'd like to see. -

Quote:not enough lols for that thoughtIf some people don't like folks who play at a breakneck speed and do their own thing in missions then it will only get worse for them blueside when Brutes appear.
My experience strongly suggests that brutelock out does scrapperlock when it comes for the need to never slow down and never stop. -

I stealth a lot of SFs. Pretty much everyone I can.
I try to be sensitive the fun of the ppl at the door. I let them know that they're free to do as they please in the front. In the 1st Silver Mantis, it's nice if the non-stealther can clear a path for the captured artists.
There are only a few of them where a non-stealther can screw really things up. More often than not, the non-stealther is either able to help significantly or is not even near where the action is. But that's because I only have the vet recall so I don't use any strategies that require recall.
Practice can help a stealther get the job done in less time than 15 minutes. If the mish isn't done much faster by stealthing, then why bother stealthing?
A crew of practiced SF runners, especially ones who have teamed before, is a blast. By trying to cut times, people invent interesting, imho, techniques of aggro management by use of things like the environment, AI manipulation, etc.
Anyway, I find stealthing to be a lot of fun.
I don't see any reason why the non-stealthers on a team should be relegated to thumbsitting. People shouldn't ask that of their teams. I understand asking non-stealthers not to tag along, but there's no reason [usually] that they cant knock some heads. -
Doesn't this happen every time there's a major crisis that require super heroes to team up?
How do they handle it in the comic books? -
Yes
Quote:Is there any reason to play my 50's or should I just level new toons?
It has made people very rich and very powerful.
It's a lot of fun if you know where to look or enjoy creating missions.
Yes -
this might be off the wall, but is your drive heavily fragmented or out of disc space?

I love to run SFs.
I intend to make a scrapper to run these. I think that the scrapper will be able to generate more damage more quickly because I shouldn't have to wait on fury to build. In theory I could be able to cut a minute or two here and there on some of the kill boss (and his minions) objectives -
freedom tf
or
freedom tfs
iirc one is open and the other is by invitation, but I forget which is which
Also, I have a great VG for casual players. If you're interested Pm me or send me a tell in game to @cossatot
