    Only 1 ACC?

    [ QUOTE ]
Hey guys a while back there was a thread detailing why only 1 acc was needed in attack powers. Is there anyone that can shed the light on that? I can't remember all the exact reasons and sg members and I are discussing that right now. Seems the last thread was purged in the last go thru.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    From here:

    [ QUOTE ]
    [u]BaseHitChance[u]

If a player attacks a critter, BaseHitChance depends on the critter's level relative to the player's Combat Level. The critter's Rank and con color don't matter. If the player and the target are the same level, BaseHitChance is 75%. If the target is below the player's level, add 5% to BaseHitChance per level of difference. If the target is higher, BaseHitChance goes down by roughly 9% per level of difference. It's not exactly 9% every single level, but it's close. An exact table of adjustments is at the end of this article.

    [/ QUOTE ]

So, if you're fighting foes the same level as you, you have a base 75% to hit. A single ACC SO adds 33% giving you a 99.75% (75 x 1.33) chance, which hits the maximum 'clamp' putting you at 95%. You don't need any more accuracy/tohitbuff than that.

But... that's powers with an Accuracy modifier of 1. Some AoE attacks are less than 1 and so, you'd want more ACC.

Foes that are higher levels than you are harder to hit. E.g., foes that are +4 to you have a base to hit of 39%, so, you'd want more ACC.

Some foes have higher Defense which reduces your final to hit, so, you'd want more ACC.

    Only 1 ACC?

my standard slotting for attacks is 1 acc 1 end 3 damage and 1 rech

    Try Frankenslotting.
  4. Excellent work!

    [ QUOTE ]
Okay, let's hear what you guys can come up with! I just wish the "TeamSelect$$Powexec" combination would work properly so that my Support Characters could have one button for each of their buffs that would open a menu with the choice for casting it on each of the eight Teammates!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Just off the top of my head, wouldn't it work the other way, using a bind to select a player and popping a menu with the choice of buff? So that hitting the keypad 1 is /bind keypad1 "TeamSelect1$$popmenu BuffChoices", and then that pops up a menu where you can choose Heal or Fortitude or so on? Then /bind keypad2 "TeamSelect2$$popmenu BuffChoices" and so on.

With a teamselect bind you can also use the submenus to popup varying dialogs for certain powers. So, after hitting Keypad2 for the second teammate, you then hit "R" for Recall friend and then you have a list of Recalls with different texts...

Recall Friend$$team I'm teleporting you, $target, to my location.
Recall Friend$$team Found our objective, teleporting $target.
Recall Friend$$team Heads up, $target, you're about to thumb your nose at the time-space continuum.
    Recall Friend$$tell $target, Incoming TP!

  7. Check out this thread, Common Solutions & Posting Guidelines

Then post the results of this program:

<ul type="square">[*]HijackThis - it will show us what's running on your computer concurrently with CoH. Click on "Do a system Scan and save a logfile." It will automatically open up Notepad and put the info there. Make sure Wordwrap is off in Notepad (Format &gt; Wordwrap unchecked) before you cut and paste here. [/list]

Also, run Speedfan and check the temperature.

Also, what is the wattage of your power supply?

    Not even sure ?

And yet, the driver date is still three years old.

The graphics are continually updated in CoH and GPUs eventually need newer drivers to keep up. Dell's holding out on you. Try here.

Sorry, the website I went to gave the specs for the smaller screen.

Did you try Desktop mode anyway?

    Tagging and import/export support?

Does this game have anything that requires such things?

Just wondering... because we've got a 5+ year old community right here with everything that this could offer, already.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Forums not controlled by ncsoft are a distinct plus.

    [/ QUOTE ]

For people who can't abide by simple common-sense rules and for whom the anarchy and, thus, near-uselessness of Usenet was a big plus for them, then, yeah, a non-official forum is a great idea.

    Like the one at badge-hunter.
    Or the various Titan forums.
Or the many 'guild portal' forums.
Or the many MMO fan-site forums.

... why are you still here, again?

With an LCD monitor, you should use it's native resolution. For your monitor, that is: Optimum Resolution: 1440 x 900 @60Hz.

You get the same thing by choosing Desktop or Windowed mode. You can change the settings in game through Menu&gt; Options &gt; Graphics Tab. Or, use Tweak CoH to change settings outside the game.

    Not even sure ?

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the integrated graphics chipset was never intended for high-end 3D gaming. Some people have found that they can play CoH on such chips, but only after shutting off or putting on the lowest setting all the special graphical effects.

First thing you need to do is update your graphics driver. Also, go to your computer's manufacturer's website and see if there are driver updates for your motherboard's chipset/CPU.

Do that and see if that gets you back into the game.

Do you even type or go to that site anymore, or have you developed a browser add-on that searches paragonwiki for what you highlight and you choose the best matching answer, which is then inserted as a link in a new post?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    1. I first go to the site to make the right link. I use the search function to find the right page. I click on the section in the table of contents for the right link to the subsection of the page. Often, it's the same few pages that are linked over and over again since the same questions pop up over and over again.

    2. I do read it to make sure the information in the Wiki is correct, as far as I know. If not, I'll edit it (had to do that to the question on exemplaring's effects on Set Bonuses the other day, since that section was out of date).

    3. I, myself, wrote half of that section (what Castle said in closed beta), so, I was pretty familiar with its location.

    4. Linking means not wasting time writing it again.

    5. Linking means that questioner learns where to find such answers on their own and other related information.

    6. That above link was just a cut and paste of the url I navigated to. When I create 'user-friendly' links, like this, I use this Firefox add-on to do so easily and quickly. I have my browser set up to keep the Wiki open in a sidebar tab for easy back and forth switching between tabs and pages like so.

    Report all Farms

I agree we should report farms.

I disagree we need another thread about it.

    Report all farm threads, too.
  18. [ QUOTE ]
Yeah, but unlike a regular server transfer you end up with an extra slot on your server of choice.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I don't think you get what Mateo is saying.

If you're going to pay to move a slot from on server to another, don't bother. You can simply buy new slots on the server you want.

Slots are purchasable. Right now. They're available for purchase through the character creation screen from the PlayNC store.

    http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Character_Slot

    * 1 slot for $5.99
    * 2 slots for $9.99 (approx. $4.99/slot)
    * 5 slots for $19.99 (approx. $3.99/slot)
