Castle just posted that this is a bug.
Which presumably means they're working on a fix. -

Thanks Zombie Man it helped alot. Cimorea zone (example) was so laggy it was unbearable, now it is not as smooth but better than before. I owe ya a round man. My treat.

And this is why I often yell at the folks who frequent this forum who claim that a duo core is the minimum to run the game. You have a decent GPU, 2 Gig of RAM, and a Pentium 4. If you make sure the computer isn't running anything else in the background, you can play on med-high settings at a fairly good FPS. And you can continue that way for years to come.
It's only if you want high GFX at high FPS that you'll need to upgrade the computer. -

New Costumes
* New Issue 15 costumes include the Vines and Ulterior themed costume sets.
o Ulterior Set and Mask Set (Male, Female, Huge Body Types)
+ 1 Hips
o Vines Mask set (Male, Female, Huge Body Types)
+ 1 Hips
[/ QUOTE ]
There are no Hips option. You mean [u]pants[u].
I posted about this already during Beta. And for the second Issue in a row, corrections made to the patch notes during Beta are ignored.
Whose job is it to read player comments in the patch notes thread during Beta and check for accuracy and correct them and get that information to the right Dev and report back?
Cause it ain't happening. Last Issue I made a correction over the wrong badge listed in the patch notes. And that wrong badge name got repeated three more times in public postings by a mod or producer. And I bugged it each time.
From Issues 9 - 13, the mods/producers were responsive to player input with regard to patch notes. That is totally out the window now.
Before Issue 9, Patch Notes and Known Issues were a mess. Positron promised that the Patch Notes process would be tightened up. And it was. We're backsliding now to it being a mess again.
The amount of omissions and wrong information in the Patch Notes for I15 is disheartening. -
[u]WRT 5th Strike Force[u]:
Like the ITF when it was first introduced, PuGs will find it to be very long and difficult. However, once you catch on to what's happening and several workable strategies, it will move a lot faster.
Now, that being said, its last iteration on test still had bugs with some of the gimmicks (temp powers to help defeat Reichsman and the 5th waves) and plot holes you can drive convoys through. I still hope there will be more fixes on the way.
If the Open Beta on Test took the place of Closed Beta, it seems that going Live is taking the place of Open Beta. Give I15 two weeks to shake down because it never got the large number of testers to stress test it on the Test Server that it deserved. -

Actually it turns out the folks who contribute to our wiki manage to update it fairly instantly.
Looking forward to working on my CC emote binds myself.

There's no links to pictures or animations of the emotes yet! Those slackers!!!! -

Could you also port Mid's planner to lolcatOS?
[/ QUOTE ]You mean Mac OS X Lolcat?
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh, so that's what 'Tiger' is.
(said for the Mac impaired, which includes me... had to Google around to 'get it.') -
[ QUOTE ]
I came in here expecting the usual complaints to why a free, player created tool wasn't up to date with all of I14/15 content. Whining about how "unprofessional" the Mid team was for letting it get out of date.
Glad to see I was wrong. But I'm still waiting for the inevitable thread(s) to appear.
[/ QUOTE ]
You haven't been paying attention, then. They're around. -

Anyone else notice that the doors and footstep sounds in the AE building are different now?
[/ QUOTE ]
I noticed that most, if not all door sounds are different. Not sure why that happened. Did anyone complain about the sound of the doors?
[/ QUOTE ]
If it's a chirp sound, that's a Fortune Buff being reapplied, like the way the Hasten sound fx gets reapplied upon zoning. -

Players activate them using the costume change interface, selectable from the main Menu.
Backflip
Salute
Howl
Evil Laugh
Peacebringer Transform (Kheldians only)
Warshade Transform (Kheldians only)
[/ QUOTE ]
Was the Vanguard Sigil costume change emote removed at some point? Thought that was the coolest one so far.
Also, do we know when Super Booster III is going to be available?
[/ QUOTE ]
For the Sigil, you have to unlock it with Vanguard Merits at a Vanguard workstation in the RWZ.
No news on the Booster.

Bunch of new sounds that didn't get to the Patch Notes.
And since the Patch Notes weren't vetted by the Testers before they were released (as they had been in the past), expect several mistakes and omissions like the ones above. -
Fleeting,
Could you also port Mid's planner to lolcatOS?
i can haz eksecutiepieable? -
[u]VEAT Costume Change[u]
Take the Omega Maneuver, make it intangible and enlarge it. Poof!
[u]Seven Day Notice for Respecs[u]
Is there a policy change on this? Or was that something the previous mods made up? -

Off the subject, I found a pretty funny bug already. I just was fooling around making a new character while waiting for the servers to "truely come live" and of course after creating it it bumped me back out to the login screen, but the bug is that when I logged back in to the character screen I saw my created character and it says that it has been logged off for 3467 days. Ummmmm this game is not 9 almost 10 years old. That would make my toon logged off for 9 years and 9 months. WOW! I have the oldest toon on this game! It was created 4 years before the game came out. BEAT THAT!!!! LOL

Well, under Lighthouse and Ex Libris, we would get 7 days notice for a freespec, not 4. We'd be asked if there were any deal breaker bugs on Test that have to get fixed before it went Live. The day before, we'd be shown a draft live patch notes for feedback and corrections. And the day before, we'd be asked to compile all the guides for the issue to be ready.
If this really is I15, I will be *very* disappointed with the Producers and Community Service people. Very. -

Kuji-In Retsu, as it's called, has a recharge time of 16 mins 40 secs.
Why?
I'm not very used to these "god mode" powers, as I generally play as controllers and defenders, but it seems IIRC it takes much longer than the tier 9 power in super reflexes.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's only 1000 seconds!
With Hasten 3 slotted with level 50 IOs, and Kuji itself 3 slotted with recharge, you get the recharge down to 370 seconds. And it lasts 180 seconds, so, it's up half the time.
For another 20% global recharge, you get it down to 343 seconds. -

For others, go to the Start button > Run > msconfig
In the Startup tab, uncheck all the ones that should not be starting up.
Go to services tab, check Hide all microsoft services. uncheck all the ones that should not be starting up (let Lava Adware remain running).
Reboot.
After that, it's deleting them one by one from the registries through HijackThis. If they reinstall, search the web for how to disable them.
Hard Drive cleaning ====
1. Go to control panel and then Add/Remove Programs and get rid of any programs you don't need any more.
2. Go into Windows Explorer (not the Internet Explorer) and right click on your C: drive and chose Properties. Under the General Tab, you'll see a button for Disk Cleanup, run it and get rid of deleted (recycle bin) and temp files.
3. Under the General Tab, make sure Indexing is not selected. Unless you need to do quick searches of your documents on a regular basis, you don't need this. It may take a while to propagate the un-indexing to all the sub-folders.
4. Go to the Tools Tab and click on the defrag button. Run the defragger. It may take an hour or two to defrag. Make sure the computer doesn't power down during it (you'll find power options where you change the screen saver -- right click on desktop...). -
1. Get rid of from the start up registries: Kodak, Yahoo invasive programs, java helpers (update you java manually, now), all the ATI helpers (they don't need to be running), the keyboard helper (unless you really do use all it's media buttons on the fly constantly), messenger, ctmon (unless you're using alternate input devices), acrobat, the two entries with missing files. For info on understanding the HijackThis report: http://www.pchell.com/support/hijackthistutorial.shtml
2. ATI usually doesn't get along with water effects and bloom, I would shut them off.
3. Make sure your hard drive is defragged.
4. For fun, check with manufacturer's web site for updated motherboard chipset/CPU drivers.
Other than that, you should be able to play the game on a medium-high setting with no problems.
A new graphics card that will work with your motherboard and that your power unit can handle will have you running at high end graphics. And if you chose NVidia, you'll be able to use AA, bloom, Depth of Field, and water gfx without any problems. -
Well, without reposting those specs, there is absolutely no way anyone can answer that question for you. So, not sure what you were expecting.
If you do want our feedback again, then post the results of these two programs:
<ul type="square">[*]CoH Helper - it will show us basic computer settings and your CoH configuration.
[*]HijackThis - it will show us what's running on your computer concurrently with CoH. Click on "Do a system Scan and save a logfile." It will automatically open up Notepad and put the info there. Make sure Wordwrap is off in Notepad (Format > Wordwrap unchecked) before you cut and paste here.

So... with side switching... does this mean that villain archetypes will get ancillary power pools? I mean, they cant really have patrons as heros can they? Likewise, does this mean that heroes are getting a set of patron powers?
[/ QUOTE ]
You can have the Power Pool of a different Patron.
And once you learn their powers, becoming good makes you forget them?
Unlikely. -

... But does Reischmann still have 226,000 HP [or however many] and a rapid-fire self-heal? this is my criteria for allocation of dessert-servings: how actually enjoyable is the last mission of the TF/SF?
Last I heard at least 50% of respondants could not even dent the final AV. Sounds about as fun as a root-canal to me... less fun. You might get nitrous oxide during a root canal, at least
[/ QUOTE ]
He's a pushover now. His regen has been gutted. And I've never seen him use a self heal.
If you're going to use hearsay, use the latest hearsay, not what was said three patches ago. And if you're not going to keep up on the latest hearsay, don't say anything at all. -
[ QUOTE ]
I've found that powers will not autofire if a non-combat NPC (such as a Wentworth's employee) or object (like a mish glowie) is targeted. Once I hit Esc to clear the target, the power fires.
