There were reports HeroCon attendees were told that there is nothing planned for bases before GR.
Basically: Everyone is working on GR except for the few things that they said they would debut in GR or earlier if they get it done earlier.
Possibly, and even unlikely, if any of them get 'free time' (e.g., they're waiting for another department to finish their part of the job before they can move forward), they *might* work on something else and that something else *might* be packaged with any on the non-GR stuff that *might* get done before GR is rolled out.
It would be best if everyone made plans that the only new stuff between now and GR is The Natural Booster Pack and The Winter Event with an added feature. Don't even count on the Spring Event to have anything new. -
The driver dates for your graphics card don't seem to be registering on the CoH Helper report. Make sure they're updated.
It couldn't hurt to go to your manufacturer's web site and see if they have updated drivers for your motherboard chipset/CPU. -
Perhaps we can say good-bye to the I16 forums and create a new Going Rogue forum?

Run Speed: 14.3 mph
Run Speed + Sprint: 21.5 mph
Run Speed + Sprint w/ 1 Run SO: 23.9 mph
Run Speed + Sprint w/ 1 Run SO + Swift: 28.9 mph
Run Speed + Sprint w/ 1 Run SO + Swift w/ 1 Run SO = 30.5 mph
Thus the Bonuses to RunSpeed....
Sprint = + 7.2 mph
Swift = +5 mph
Run SO in Sprint = +2.4 mph
Run SO in Swift = +1.6 mph
And thus (with ED):
3 Run SOs in Sprint = +6.8 mph
3 Run SOs in Swift = +4.7 mph
So let's say you 3-slot Sprint with Run SOs, your run speed will be: 28.3 mph
Add Swift and one Run SO in the default slot of Swift, your Run speed will be: 35 mph
Two more slots in Swift will bring it up to: 38 mph.
And now, Jump:
Jump Speed: 14.3 mph
Jump Height: 4 ft
Jump Speed + Sprint: 14.3 mph // 4.4 ft
Jump Speed + Sprint w/ 1 Jump SO: 14.3 mph // 4.5 ft
Jump Speed + Hurdle: 32.1 mph // 10.7 ft
Jump Speed + Hurdle w/ 1 Jump SO: 38.1 mph // 12.9 ft
Jump Speed + Combat Jumping: 14.5 mph // 12.0 ft
Jump Speed + Combat Jumping w/ 1 Jump SO: 38.1 mph // 14.7 ft
Thus the Bonuses to Jump Speed and Height...
Sprint = +0 mph JumpSpeed // +0.4 ft JumpHeight
Hurdle = +17.8 mph JumpSpeed // +6.7 ft JumpHeight
Combat Jumping = +0.2 mph JumpSpeed // +8.0 ft JumpHeight
Jump SO in Sprint = +0 mph JumpSpeed // +.1 ft JumpHeight
Jump SO in Hurdle = +6.0 mph JumpSpeed // +2.2 ft. JumpHeight
Jump SO in Combat Jumping = +0.07 mph JumpSpeed // +2.7 ft JumpHeight
So, for increasing unsuppressable JumpSpeed, 3-slotting Hurdle is your best move (anything else is *very* inefficient) which would make your JumpSpeed = 49.1 mph.

Level 25: 14.31818 + (14.31818 * 2.24) = 46.4 mph
Level 35 14.31818 + (14.31818 * 2.34) = 47.8 mph
Level 50: 14.31818 + (14.31818 * 2.49) = 50 mph
Level 50 + SO: 14.31818 + (14.31818 * 2.49 * 1.333) = 61.8 mph -
They've said at HeroCon that basically Going Rogue work comes before customizing the Pools. I guess if a Programmer or Animator is waiting on some other department in order to continue to do GR work, they can use that 'found' time to work on the Pool customizations. But at this point, don't expect it until after GR comes out.

Quote:Actually, your CoH Helper report is truncated, and it would be good to cut and paste the HiJackThis report here, too.Hello people, the last couple of weeks (around i16/zombie event start) ive started crashing. The crash is normally followed by a white screen box asking about reporting, or it just boots back to desktop. At first i thought it maybe Ram issues as i only ran 1.5gig and had read something about a memory leak. I upgraded to 2 gig thinking it may remedy it. It didnt.
I play with sound off so dont know if theres loop, i can however find some speakers to test this if needed.
I tried running CoH helper, however it cant find the CoX registry, im assuming this is because my game file is called "city of heroes 2" as i had 2 version 1 for US acc, 1 for EU. I dont have the US one now.
I did however manage to run hijack this. Have absolutely no idea what it means, but here it is!
---System information gathered by CoH Helper version 0.1.1.8---
With regard to memory: You can have 100 GB of RAM, when the game hits about 1.5 GB, it becomes very unstable and crashes. The command /unloadgfx *use to* help, but doesn't any more. The best we can do right now is to occasionally restart the came to clear the memory leak. -

Possibly:
If you are a Hero, you'll go to the Heroside Ouroboros and the arcs will be all the Hero arcs and the GR Morality-Choice arcs.
If you are a Vigilante, you'll go to the Heroside Ouroboros and the arcs will be all the Hero arcs and the GR Morality-Choice arcs and the Resistance arcs.
If you a Villain, you'll go to the Villainside Ouroboros and the arcs will be all the Villain arcs and the GR Morality-Choice arcs.
If you are a Rogue, you'll go to the Villainside Ouroboros and the arcs will be all the Villain arcs and the GR Morality-Choice arcs and the Loyalist arcs. -
Quote:This is the reported facts from HeroCon: the combined info from two players who talked to Brian Clayton about it.I think I remember people saying that it was said at HeroCon that there aren't currently any plans for an issue before Going Rogue. But I think they also said that if they can gather enough niceness, they may release an issue 16.5 of sorts before Going Rogue launches.
Also, not sure, but I think someone said that it was mentioned that they may give us the graphics update before Going Rogue comes along. -Shrugs-
**IF** there's an Issue between now and GR, **reasonable** things to expect (and not pie-in-the-sky wishlist items, such as a Cross PvP Server <rolls eyes>) would be:
- Ultra Graphics mode
- Mercedes Lacky and Troy Hickman Architect Entertainment guest author arcs
- Upcoming feature: You do not have to log out to switch character
- Upcoming feature: Enemies/Objectives will be marked on the mission map when 90% of the enemies/objectives have been defeated/found
- Upcoming feature: Enhancement prices will be standardized across all vendors/contacts
- Upcoming feature: Electricity Control for Controllers (And possibly Dominatiors)
- Upcoming feature: You will be able to trade inspirations between factions
- Fixes for some longstanding bugs (we'll get to see the effects of having a new Bug Czarbiter Kim)
- More GR leaks
- Maybe a few new arcs hinting more at the Coming Storm or preludes setting the stage for Going Rogue
- Maybe some of the GR updates to the Praetorians will spill into the classic arcs or the MA
- Dr. Aeon should have ready some more Dev Choice arcs, new or re-introduced mission maps, and maybe even a new mission-making feature

Cool. "Eternal Night" is actually "Eternal Midnight."

If you're going to refer to yourself by your continent of origin (American, European), then it's equitable to call everyone by their continent of origin (Asian, African) rather than the direction their continent is from you. Unless of course, you're going to refer to yourself directionally (a Westerner), in which case, you can use the equitable directional appellation (an Easterner). It's only fair.

Quote:Called it! (hotfix Friday morning announced)To summarize:
Wednesday's down-time was publishing a patch to Live.
Thursday's down-time is the new once-a-week maintenance schedule (and maybe a rollback of the patch since it has serious bugs, because if it isn't rolled back, expect another downtime soon with a hotfix). -

Quote:Did you know that the 'Oscar' and the 'Tony' awards are given out by organizations of those in the movie and theater biz as self-congratulatory awards? And did you know the video game biz gives out it's own self-congratulatory awards?Certainly most games out there right now would not count, and they are not recognized as such by any art academy or instition that I know of (is there an equivalent of the Oscar or Tony award for them? I'd certainly like to know!).
The movie biz organization can call itself an academy, but that doesn't make it so, nor does it make it a official arbiter of what is art or not. -

I believe at one time the planting of bombs gave a V.Merit, even to those who didn't unlock them normally.

Don't you mean the collective man species?

Taboos against incest are taboos, i.e., irrational reactions. Now, there are good reasons to prevent incest in most cases, but because they make someone feel 'icky' is an awful reason on which to base sexual ethics. (That's why there's been centuries of repression against people with sexual identities and practices outside the norm and why 'ickyness' is not a proper gauge of ethics.)
Most people will explain that the 'ickyness' comes from the idea that incestuous relations create genetically malformed offspring. Well, that is false. It is inbreeding over many generations where there is a genetic disease that is the problem. A lineage will need new blood over the long term (or create pressure for those with the genetic problem to opt out of creating the next generation). But in the short term, two healthy siblings or closely related mammals (including humans) produce healthy offspring.
The real ethical problem of incest is the problem of coercion. In sibling incest, it is usually the brother forcing the sister into sex. In parent-child incest, it is the parent exerting either physical or psychological pressure to take advantage of the child. Coerced sex is always wrong. And incestuous relations are almost always coercive; and even if they're truly not, the danger of it being coercive justifies a standing societal prohibition.
Where incestuous relations could be condoned is if the closely related members are both adult and were not raised in the same household. That is what justifies marriages of first cousins (still allowed in some states and normative for most human cultures). However, if they were brought up as brother-sister in the same house, then that would be highly discouraged.
This all brings us to the curious case of Tyrant and Dominatrix. Being his granddaughter, it is possible that Dominatrix grew up in a different household where Tyrant was not providing primary care (he was out saving and subjugating the world). She may have only seen her grandfather at state occasions. Being immortal(-ish), Tyrant retains the appearance of a man in his 30s. Dominatrix has grown up to be a woman in her 20s and has gotten to know her grandfather by working for him in the government.
*Psychologically* they may never had a parent-child relationship. Thus any relations between them is not from Tyrant using his grandfatherly sway to convince his granddaughter to 'serve' him. Since the relationship may be truly consensual, then there is nothing ethically wrong with it.
In fact, since Tyrant is a god-like ruler, almost any relationship would be ethically suspect that he's using his status to impose himself on a woman. However, given Dominatrix's strong personality, and the hint that she is the pursuer in this relationship, it ironically turns out that a relationship with Dominatrix would wind up being the least likely psychologically coercive relationship Tyrant could have.
Of course, I've presented the best-case scenario. It could be that Tyrant took care and coddled Dominatrix like she was his own daughter and she grew up under his care and he's a big lech who couldn't wait to abuse his relationship with Dominatrix and exerted all the psychological leverage at his disposal to groom her to be his sex toy in a relationship that started when she was a minor. *That* would be icky. -

Yesterday's patch did introduce a serious bug to Ouroboros.
1. All foes are spawning at their hard-set minimum.
2. Many arcs have a mission that won't load at all.
There are several threads about it and many have /bugged it in-game. -

Telling someone who's shouting on the bus to quit it is not being hostile or being above the law or being a unique snowflake or treating people poorly.

Quote:Because we all have questions we would like to have answered, but we all don't hide each question we have in a brand new thread trying to trick a Dev into answering it. It's the equivalent of "Are we there yet? Are we there yet?" If we all posted our questions in new threads, the boards would be a mess.Is there any reason you are so hostile? Really, you should just give it a rest

It's also a case where *your* question is the Unique Snowflake that deserves its own thread but the rest of us have to line up in the huge, existing thread (where the Devs actually are answering questions, btw).
There, can you understand now why someone would be hostile toward your tactics that you do over and over again?
