Quote:Easiest way to get to it is to chose the map in a MA test arc. It's a random cimeroran map. A dead end room with a cross-shaped walkway, and four 'pockets' of water. The two closest to the entrance you can't quite swim in, but the far two, you can swim under the walkway that 'divides' them.
Back when this was first discovered in I-12, apparently pool parties became quite popular in Cimerora.

The Mac Edition is more of a "Marketing Gimmick to Advertise That You Can Now Play CoH on a Mac" thing. It's just another edition.
PC and Mac users each have a version of the client independent of edition, and each user can add any or all editions to their account. In fact, it's best to think of an edition as something that modifies your account, not your client. -
Quote:Does it do it in a PvP zone?As cool as an effect this is, I think it is potentially exploitative.
I have a DB/Dark stalker with Shadow Meld. With no buffs, activating Shadow Meld and performing an emote makes the wispy effect of the power go away and you will be COMPLETELY invisible. If you have buffs on you, only the buff will be visible. You are still targetable and such, but you have no visible trace whatsoever.
Haven't tried to reproduce it. Don't have another stalker that high yet.

Yeah... you didn't read my link where all those points are rather clearly addressed, did you?

Let me pitch again for what we should be asking for:
For all costume pieces to have the same set of textures so that they can be perfectly mixed and matched.
Example textures: Matt cloth (regular clothing); Shiny cloth (spandex); Matt Leather; Shiny Leather; Rough Metal (rusted, worn, scratched); Shiny Metal (non-descript reflective); Reflective (metal, glass, crystal). -
One's best bet is to simply bookmark your Groups main page or the discussion you're following.
I've heard that groups could be set up to work just like the regular forums do, if that's true, that's what should be done. -
Guide to Respecs
There are three respec trials in the game, they're each like a mini-Task Force. They have different levels and foes, but the same basic timed task at the end (save the reactor). At level 50, you have the option of doing any of them three times (one each or the same one 3 times) for the respec reward.
See the Wiki link above for info on how to do the respec trials. See the link I have in this post above for an easy-to-read overview of respecs.
Don't forget your second build! -
You don't get Customer Service's attention to fix a problem with a bug report... you do that with a petition.
Could you give us a screen shot of the problem? http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Screenshot
Then please post the results of these two programs:
- CoH Helper - it will show us basic computer settings and your CoH configuration.
- HijackThis - it will show us what's running on your computer concurrently with CoH. Click on "Do a system Scan and save a logfile." It will automatically open up Notepad and put the info there. Make sure Wordwrap is off in Notepad (Format > Wordwrap unchecked) before you cut and paste here.
- CoH Helper - it will show us basic computer settings and your CoH configuration.

Pro tip: Wait till you see the Event happening in one of the more populated zones: Atlas; Talos; Cap. It's so much easier to recruit people if they're already in the zone.
Trying to recruit people to go to the Hollows, e.g., is a recipe for failure. -
Quote:While it's noble to defend someone you think was misunderstood, please understand PhantomRanger's off-topic post was off-topic and shouldn't have been in this thread to begin with.Begging your pardon BAB, but I don't see where PhantomRanger asked or implied that YOU were the one who should be fixing bases.
He simply stated his opinion that the walking animation doesn't really carry as much importance to him as base fixes, and that he would have rather seen base fixes in the patch notes.
This is supposed to be a thread regarding thoughts/opinions on the patch notes, right?
Just about every time we get a patch notes thread posted to inform us of the contents of the patch and to get feedback about the contents of the patch, there are those who ask, "What about X?"
If we were promised X in an about-to-be-released patch, then that is a valid question, inquiring whether the patch note was accidentally left off.
If there was no such promise of X coming immediately to a patch, then it's an off-topic whine. And we get lots of them. So much so, that forum policy was crafted to rule them out of line:
- Do not create threads/posts to “petition” or “lobby” for game features, additions, changes, or other issues. You may post suggestions and/or ideas to the boards, but you may not create a ‘petition’ for others to sign. This is bumping in disguise and will not be allowed. Lobbying is continually bringing up the same topic repeatedly in numerous different threads or as an off-topic post in official threads to get developer attention. This form of posting is not permitted.
People know that the eyes of several Devs are on patch notes and it's pretty shameless to hijack it for their own personal peeves.
BAB should have hit the Notify Moderator button with a note, "Keep these people off of an official thread please" than engage them... it only encourages them. -
Irony: It's easier to get the badges with less people.
If you have less than four teams, everyone needs to split up to attack the defenders so that the Banners become vulnerable. And once the Banners become vulnerable, then everyone in the zone needs to converge on the same Banner to take it down. And when that happens, everyone gets all four Banner badges because they all worked on all four Banners. Then they're all the same distance from the GM and it's easy for four or under teams to each do the 10% prerequisite damage to get the GM badge, and then, you automatically get the Accolade. -

Quote:Dr. Aeon did say he'll try to get out a Devs' Choice once per week.Congratulations. I have played and enjoyed this arc.
Anyone notice that this arc was an nominee 2009 Arc Awards? It looks like they are going to DC the nominees and just want to stretch out the process. Guess they are trying to get all the mileage they can out of all the work they put into the awards.
I'm sure he's taking his time going through these arcs checking for bugs and typos and maybe even contacting the author about some tweaks. -
Quote:Looking at the Real Numbers for Walk, I don't think it sets your speed to 3.09. It certainly reduces your speed depending on your level, but to a rate faster than 3.09. But, with the Max Speed capped to 3.09, everyone, regardless of level winds up moving at the Max of 3.09.Walk sets your move speed to 3.09 (barring bugs) and makes your max move speed 3.09. So no amount of +speed will make you go faster because you're already at max speed.
This means that if one is hit with enough Slows while walking, then one would wind up going slower than 3.09.
And this is where I believe the bug is coming from where some are moving slower than 3.09 because the reduction in speed is taking them under the Max. -
Costume Contests can now have a catwalk.
Chained /follow-ing an NPC will be more fun.
When the level requirement for the Shard was dropped in I16, we talked about a level 1 foot race from BAB to the Storm Palace. Now make that a Walk-only race. -
My first thought was, "What are you talking about? There are no Hellions in those trees."
-
Oh sure, they have time to work on Walking, but not on the fixes needed to make sure I stop losing all the time in PvP. That's it, I'm going to CO!

When I was reading the rep I received, I always felt a profound sense of joy when the comment showed that the person clearly intended to give me negative rep, but they had no Rep Power and it was just a grey bit. A good third of my neg rep was greyed out.
Ha ha. -
Hmmm... the 'E' could be the Eden TF which can be completed in 15 minutes by some. It was never intended to be done so quickly and its Merit Reward was seriously nerfed as a result.

Quote:One trick is to use the Google advanced search and put the domain name in to limit the Google search to the wiki. The one line shortcut would be:Well, I don't remember exactly, but things like "character name," "character," "new character," "naming conventions," and so on.
In general, I find searching any wiki (it's not just you) to be much less forgiving of typos and the choice of highly specific terms than, say Google. But that's probably a reflection on the quality of Google's algorithm and not on wiki editors' dedication.
