  1. FYI:

    Lord Winter's damage resistance is now an even 70% v. all types. (Although, I've seen players' -DamResistance stack up and take that into the negatives -- debuffers are your friends.) [In previous Test sessions, his Resistance was higher, especially v. Cold.]

    He's got Mag 100 Protection against all mezzes except Sleep, Taunt, Placate, Immob, and TP. (I'm assuming he's also easily Black Holed, like most GMs, but your fellow players will take a very dim view of you doing extra phasing to him.) His Resistance to Taunt is 100% (50% duration) and his range was debuffed by 75% when Taunted.

    He has an 85% Resistance to these debuffs: -Regen; -Recovery; -ToHit; -Defense. And he has 10,0085% Resistance to -Recharge!

    He has 14.05% Defense bonus v. all damage types except Psionic (Engergy Absorbtion power) and no Positional Defense bonuses (other than what comes naturally to a Giant Monster). Player debuffs stack and regularly take his Defense bonuses into the negatives.

    No speed buffs.

    ToHit Bonus of 50% and Accuracy of 1.5x. And yet, I saw at one point his "Last Hit Chance" be 7.5%, meaning that someone had a high enough Defense or he had enough -ToHit Debuff, or both, to floor his final ToHit roll (capped at 5% with the 1.5x Accuracy bonus applied after the fact).

    He has 226,173.39 HP and a regen rate of .05% (113.09 hp/sec).

    He has 800 Endurance and a recovery rate of 1.67% (13.34 end/sec).

    Perception: 54 ft.

    Experience to next level: 39,149,120. (Which makes him internally a level 50 GM).

    For everyone in the *zone*, they get a floater text flash that says a Winter Lord has spawned and another floater text that a Present has been left.

    This may be intentional on the part of the devs to not make this a server-wide event that draws in a hundred players at once (at least on Freedom and Virtue that can easily happen) causing multiple instances of the Lord Winter Realm to spawn, but instead something for just a zone or two teams to take on with just one Realm instance.

    The Deadly Apocalypse easily scaled up for eight teams at once, so a server-wide message wasn't a problem. The way that this event is structured, eight teams would make the event trivially easy.

    At least, that's what I'm guessing the Devs are thinking.

    The Northern Lights phase when Lord Winter phases, only the NL cheat: They can still attack while phased but can't be hit. When LW unphases, the NLs unphase too and are attackable and killable again.

    It's a 'feature' of the event that Lord Winter's Realm is instanced into something like a normal city zone that anyone can enter. Once the Realm is instanced, as long as it is 'up', any other group, whether heroside or villainside, that spawn a Portal-Present will enter into that same Realm, even if the battle with the Lord Winter is almost over.

    Yes, that can be a disappointment, but it can also be an opportunity, if players coordinate it correctly, to create a Co-Op Lord Winter battle.

    Also, if there are too many players for the Realm's maximum capacity, then a second (and third and fourth...) Lord Winter Realm will spawn. You can then use the portal in the Realm (it's a cave door) to switch between Realm instances. The message from the Devs says that the purpose of this zone portal is so that teams that wind up in different instances can join back up, but I'm sure the players will find ways to abuse and exploit the zone portal.

    Don't think so. You can't sneak lowbies on Ouro missions if they're below the minimum level (a product of TF-mode).

    But I wonder if a level 20 doing it for the first time can sneak in a level 1 to get that level 1 a cape... hmm....

    Or how about this: Capes are available from level 1, but this special mission unlocks a special cape, let's say Hero 1's Union Jack cape (we know players can equip it since it was equipable as a bug once on Test).
  5. I thought the same thing too, one time.

    Then I realized that some zones had greener trees than others. And if you go from a green-tree-zone to a fall-color-tree-zone you get the impression of a seasonal change.

    But the green tree zones are always green and the fall color tree zones are always fall colors.

    They couldn't have changed the mission! I have it on good authority from many a poster in these forums who typed in fuming bile that the Devs were lazy and only gave us crappy letters on the occasion of the opening of the time capsule and not any in-game content.

    Nope. This changed mission didn't happen. How could they be so wrong???



    BTW, if you want a cape at level one and you're not using a female model, get the Magic Booster. You can have a high collared cape at level one with *any* cape attached to it. See here.

    1. It's just wrong. Signature means 'named' and Moonfire or Imperious are names and have eponymous TFs just like Positron and Synapse. The name 'Signature' came about to differentiate the Freedom Phalanx TFs from the non-named respec trials, which were scalable in level. But since then, 'signature' TFs have been added that are not hard coded levels, but scalable, just like the trials.

    2. The name doesn't describe the feature it supposed to refer to. 'Signature' tells one nothing about the level of the TF. Other naming conventions like "Hard Coded" and "Scalable" would be more descriptive names for the leveling mechanic of TFs.
  8. With the downhill course (Expert Slope) I can easily get Gold with Ninja Run and Sprint on a level 50.

    With that same level 50 on the Advanced Slop (the toboggan - bobsled - skelton - luge track), I tried these two tactics (since I didn't have SuperJump):

    • Ninja Run + Sprint + Run Empowerment + Jump Empowerment + Accelerated Metabolism

    • SuperSpeed + Sprint + Run Empowerment + Jump Empowerment + Accelerated Metabolism

    And even running a perfect course (no bumping or stalls), I couldn't break the 53 second barrier.

    Then, when someone gave me Inertial Reduction, got the Gold on the Advanced Course.

    Lesson: If you don't have SuperJump or IR, you're not getting the Advanced Slope Gold.

    I just did a BNY mission on a level 50 at diff lev -1. They were all level 49 Winter Horde. Outside the cave, inside the cave, and the ones that spawned after SnapTooth is defeated.

    And they drop normal arcane salvage too. Good reason to hunt the horde in your level range.

    Will need a screen cap of the WL's hp or combat attributes to show that this is not an ordinary GM, which the WLs on Test have been. Because, if this is just the same GM that was on Test and the same basic stats of every other GM, then the problem was with your team and not a bug.

    There are some teams that can handle a GM and some that can't. GMs were specifically designed to require more than one team and the uber-GM of the Lord Winter will require more than one team... it's working as designed. A complaint that one team can't take down a GM is a non-starter. That's just the way it is.
  16. Asking to join a team, when looked at in isolation, would seem to be an insignificant event.

    However, when you're on a TF and everyone on your team is hit with a dozen requests to join your team, then it is a real annoyance. And that's why you'll get the rude 'buzz off' reply, because that person got hit with many such unwanted requests.

    A sociology experiment that was done to determine if people in the southern parts of the U.S. were nicer than their northern counterparts had experimenters go up to strangers on the street to ask for the time or directions. When done in isolation, the strangers were very cordial and cooperative. When the experimenters set themselves up to target the same person several times as they walked down the street, then the famous southern hospitality soon went by the wayside by the third or fifth interruption in their routine. The lesson is that people have a limit to friendly requests.

    That said, when I get a request to join my team, I tell them I'm on a TF. Then I promptly put myself on 'hide from searches.' End of problem.

  20. The normal AV Pink Triangles of Doom resistance doesn't include Damage Debuff resistance (though they do include ToHit Debuff Resistance). Darkest Night has saved many a Tanker hit by the damage from Ghost Widow's ultra hold which normally has enough damage to one shot over time a Tanker.

    You're basing that by *averaging* which doesn't account for the extremes.

    The shortest wait between issues was 57 days (Issue 6) and the longest was 222 days (Issue 7).

    Let's say they get GR ready for the 6th anniversary on Wednesday, Apr 28, 2010. That will be a 225 day wait between issues -- only three days longer than the wait for Issue 7.

    Posi said they already are working on I18 (i.e., the one after GR... *if* there is a mini-issue I17 before GR, then that will be I19). So, I don't expect that after GR comes out that there will be a full four months before the next Issue.

    In the folder mentioned above only when in the 3D environment of the game. The character screen (at the tailor's), however, doesn't create a file automatically when you hit printscreen. It goes into the clipboard and then you'll have to paste it into some other program and save it from that program.
