Quote:If you're not looking to edit, but a straight recording, I suggest using www.WeGame.com.How do you record gameplay into a video file that you can, for example, upload to youtube?
Here are the WeGame vids I've made: http://www.wegame.com/users/ZombieGuy/

Quote:Oh, then you'll definitely want to check this out.I haven't gotten a Game announcement email since Feb 09 for the Spring fling thing. I have no idea if any emails have been sent out since then for game stuff. If you get one for this Winter, could you upload it in the forum so I can read it too

I've gotten plenty of emails from customer support and NCSoft in general since though.

Quote:In that case, that hotkey will start the recording *and* execute its in-game function.Check your in-game keybinds (Menu>Options>Keymapping) to make sure the key you are trying to use isn't used for something in-game.
WeGames works fine for me with CoH.
OP: Did you install the CoH version? -
Ummm... I have a contrary anecdote:
A wants the exploration badge of a low level Safeguard mission. B, a lowbie on that same account can open that mission. So, B opens the mission and invites C to hold it open (a toon on my other account). B logs off so that A can jump on. When B logs off, C gets kicked out of the mission and it's gone.
This was just two weeks ago. -
Quote:Missions and other things you create in the MA are stored on your hard drive. When you publish something, then and only then, is that published work stored on the server drivers. Is anyone having problems with this or is it just me?
After Buying a new HD and reinstalling everything...
I found out I'm having the problem of when I click on the dropdowns... they don't drop down. Period. I lost the missions I had on the other HD and if this is a normal bug, I can wait till it's fixed. Other wise... I'm wondering if anyone has this problem.
So, you should still have access to your published missions. Anything else is still on your old HD unless you copied over those files. -
Quote:The salvage storage racks in personal bases work exactly like this supposed game-breaking mechanic.I'll start using them when the devs change them to be account based storage for enhancements, recipes, inspirations and inf.

WRT the OP: When I first started outfitting all my high level toons with IO sets, I definitely used the personal vaults to hold onto every bit of salvage I could. Now that they're IO'd out, the salvage storage racks in my personal base is sufficient to hold my rare salvage. I do sell off any rare salvage I already have 2 of. -
Quote:Which ones are outdated?Possible, but then again they haven't even updated the tips on the loading screens that are now outdated so who knows.
Edit: Besides these:
- Playing in Supergroup Mode earns your Supergroup Prestige and base salvage with which to purchase and upgrade their base.
- Check out the latest issue of the City Scoop on the City of Heroes forums. City Scoop is a fan-created newsletter all about the "City of" games.
- When you Sidekick/Lackey to someone you fight at one level below their combat level, but with your powers and enhancements.
- When you Exemplar/Malefactor to someone you fight at their combat level, losing access to powers you gained after that level. You will stop gaining XP, instead gaining double Influence/Infamy
- At level 15 and again at level 30 you can choose a special title for your character. NOTE: This information is incorrect: see titles!
- A Hero Corps representative or Fateweaver can make your missions tougher for you, for a price.
- If any members of a team are below 5 levels of the highest level character in the team, they may not receive experience without being sidekicked/lackeyed.
- If any members of a team are above 5 levels of the lowest level character in the team, they may cause the entire team to not gain experience, until they are exemplared/malefactored.
- Spawns within mission instances scale to the size of your team. Want more enemies? Form a bigger team!
- "Toggle" powers can be turned on and left running, but will drain Endurance. If you run out of endurance, or are stunned, held, or slept, these powers will be deactivated.
- Positron was severely injured in the first Rikti war, losing control of his powers. In order to keep the city safe, he had to seal himself inside of his power armor.

The box might have extras in it, like an updated manual.
<yeah, I know... I can't stop either... gasps for breath> -
Quote:The event is on a switch which can be turned on and off without needing a maintenance period. Often such events are scheduled to start at noon after a maintenance period and actually start within an hour of the end of maintenance. Those years maintenance was on monday mornings though, so now that it's thursdays who knows

If the Winter Event needs any last minute patching, then look for a surprise maintenance to be announced for Monday morning. Or, they'll just do a Monday morning maintenance anyway to ensure stability for the expected rush once the event starts. -

Remember folks, the game is intentionally designed so that EBs are not solo-able. Sure, many of power gamers find EBs just a minor speed bump while soloing, while casual players do indeed find most EBs un-soloable.
But when we find an EB which really is un-soloable for some builds... then we can't say it's a bug or a mistake or overpowered. That's the way it's supposed to be.
For Nossy's stats go here and search the page for Nosferatu. -
When Professor Xavier says it does!

While I can take down Nos on my Dark Defender with a lot of use of insps (make sure you have four reds so you're doing a lot of damage), I just use up a Shivan and bippity bop he's dead.

Basically, the last two years began the Monday before Christmas week. Which puts this coming Monday, Dec 14, 2009 as the most likely start date.
But until we get word, we don't know.
Besides, don't they send out an email for the Winter Event? -
Quote:But the owner of the mission set themselves equal to six. And six makes AVs and overrides the request to downgrade them.I think you typo'd this one. If AVs are set to downgrade, and there are only three on the team, you will not get AVs.
If you're soloing and set yourselves to six, you'll get AVs, even if you asked for the downgrade, no?
EDIT:
No.
I just tested this. I set myself for no AVs. Went to the Nightstar mission in Flashback (one badge mission with an AV). By myself set to one-PC-equivalency, she was an EB.
I then upped my equivalency to six, and she was still an EB.
I invited another player, set to six, and she was still an EB.
Two players, set to equivalency of eight, and she was still an EB.
So, the conclusion is, that when the holder of the mission says "No AVs", then there will be no AVs, even if the equivalency slider is set to eight and there are less than six on the team.
I'm assuming that if there are six physical players on the team then the "No AV" slider is ignored. At least I think so. -
Quote:Yeah, I thought so, too, til someone said they did it and I tried to replicate it and did.I guess the question (possibly for the devs) is: what's up with that? I thought this was explicitly barred by Ouro in general. Is it not?
Either it was entered into the Crystal by mistake, or, it was entered incorrectly, or, someone forgot to gate the mission with a minimum level cap because they forgot about Base Crystals and thought the minimum gate to Ourobros would take care of things, or, there's a gas leak at Paragon Studios. -
As far as I can tell, the forums catalog whole words; and words that are three characters or less are not cataloged and, thus, unsearchable.
However, this is successful in Google: stf site:boards.cityofheroes.com -
Quote:You need to test these things in-game before making such statements because you're wrong. There was no way it could be exploited by anyone below L20, because it was in the L46-50 Ouro section...
When they revamped the Cape Mission, it was added to the Flashback Crystal. The old Cape Mission wasn't there, but the new one was there. Why? I don't know.
At the same time, everyone's history with the City Rep was wiped. You could (and still can) pick up the new Cape Mission from the City Rep even if you did the old cape mission.
Since Flashback missions use the psuedo-TF mode, that means everyone gets the final arc-reward, whether it be a badge, a souvenir, or Merits. The New Cape Mission via Flashback was giving toons below 20 the cape unlock. (Yes, if you were sub-20, you could join the Cape Mission Flashback through a base Crystal. I tested it.)
Meanwhile, if a sub-20 tagged along on the same New Cape Mission through the City Rep, they would *not* get their cape unlocked.
Meanwhile, if you buy the Magic Pack, you can have all the capes unlocked from level 1 for all toons if you can put up with the high collar design -- except for female models. I've documented this bug for a long time. I made a separate thread about it in Tech forum and pointed JLove to the thread in the costume bug thread. And I've pointed the new Bug Czar (Arbiter Kim) to it on the player-gathered Known Issues page on the Wiki here. And it still isn't fixed. But the flashback exploit is. Don't know why. <sigh> -
Quote:Maybe I'm misunderstanding you, but I think what you're saying is wrong. It works like this: The settings apply to yourself and your missions.
You set yourself to 8, no bosses, itll spawn for 8 players but no bosses. As soon as you add a player, it treats it like youre suddenly 9 players, and overrides and will spawn like an 8 man team.
This also applies to EBs/AVs. If you dont wanna fight AVs solo, you need to keep your effective team count below 6, even when teaming. So you can reduce it down and have 5 people on the team but itll only spawn an EB if youre set to x1, but if youre above that, set to x2+ itll spawn an AV, because its treating you as an extra count for teaming purposes.
Team size for the sake of the spawns equals either your team size or the equivalency size of the mission holder, which ever is larger. There is no adding of teammates to the equivalency setting anymore (the old system added one virtual teammate on settings 2 and 4).
So, if you set yourself equal to 2 toons and you have three teammates, spawn size is set for 4 (you plus three teammates).
If you set yourself for 4 toons and you have one teammate, spawn size is for 4.
If you have AVs set to downgrade and if you set yourself for 5 toons and you have two teammates, spawn size is for 5 and you get no AVs.
If you have AVs set to downgrade and if you set yourself for 2 toons and you have 5 teammates, then spawn size is for 6 (you and 5 teammates) and you will get AVs.
If you have AVs set to downgrade and if you set yourself for 6 toons and you have 2 teammates, then spawn size is for 6 and you will get AVs.
Spawn size never goes above being set for 8, even if you set yourself equal to 8 toons and have 7 teammates. -
98% of my time playing CoH was on PuGs. And 90% of that time was an excellent experience.
I usually try to join TF PuGs... that almost guarantees me the team will stick together for an hour or two, plus.. The Merits!
All this on Virtue.
