My list was referring to enemies fought cooperatively at the same time. If we listed all the foes fought both side fight separately.... well that would be almost all factions.

Well those bars/lines that say the characters name look abnormally long and thick. It just looks really "not right".
Its like for the loading in part to the game I somehow revert to a lower setting, but when I get into the game it goes to the right settings >.<

I will see about a screenshot. It just looks terribad :\
All the 2D screens and the 2D GUI does get stretched with a wide(r) screen. There's nothing to be done to correct that (though the GUI can be reshaped and scaled).

The 3D environment does not stretch, at least, it shouldn't. If your characters in the game are wide and short, then that's a problem that needs fixing. With a wide screen you do lose part of your vertical view (the top and bottom is cropped off). That can be resolved simply by pulling your camera back a bit.

What about on a full team (I bring this up, because currently the system can only spawn for up to 8 players, what if that is a hard cap in the programming)? Would it not trivialize content if a team of 8 all had such pets, effectively making them a team of 16?
Basically, you can set up MA missions to give you 'hirelings' who can become buff bots or major dps. To keep this from becoming an unbalancing way to powerlevel, you don't get XP credit for the damage your 'associates' do, and only one 'associate' will actually work as a buff bot and the others who could potentially be a buff bot will do nothing.

This could be implemented outside the MA so it's not abused.

I don't believe Teleport suppresses in PvE (I'd have to check), but in PvP Teleport's range is suppressed to damn near zero. You're unlikely to find a skilled PvPer using Teleport in PvP.
Not near zero, the power gets greyed out and can't be used at all.

Currently, range modifiers apply to all powers and if TP simply had it's range reduced, then all powers would have a proportionate range reduction suppression.

It would take coding to change that and that's why TP's suppression is simply just turning it off in PvP.

TP does not suppress PvE. I use it to escape while in battle, or use it to bypass Immobs or Slow Patches.

    • Anthropomorphic manifestations of Winter.
    • Overzealous Longbow.
    • Traitorous planetary defenders.
    • Redcaps and their allies.
    • Enemies of DJ Zero's friends

Reichsmann has Teleport Foes (to jail cell).

Everyone has that issue, even the Devs. They're supposedly working on it.

And this is about the tenth thread of "surely we'll keep our stuff if we switch... the Devs must allow it... I worked so hard for it...!!??"

This all leads to players getting worked up over it and hatin' on the Devs for a situation they created. So, yeah, I don't mind if those folks, who get caught up in that kind of frenzy, wind up hatin' me. I had the PvP community hating me, and I was *helping* them, so, same old.

It just points out to the reasonable folk, that when this whole thing blows up, who's at fault.

People have been able to make elaborate multi-function /binds for years now. If there was anything "illegal" spelled out in the guides like Kheldarn referenced they would have been deleted from the forum years ago. *shrugs*
Those binds are limited to one power at a time plus one toggle.

External macros allow for an attack chain which can not be accomplished with in-game binds. Such macros are forbidden by the EULA. There's no arguing that fact.

What's arguable is if such activities are detectable, if they're trying to detect it, and if they're 'prosecuting' such violations.

It seems very unlikely that they'd do anything about someone using such keyboards for elaborate role-playing scripts.

However, all it takes is for word to get out that a particular farm can level you up to 50 in a few hours, or that you can always win an arena tournament through the use of these types of macro-ing keyboards, and then the hammer will come down. Mark my words.
  19. I pulled the trigger. I decided to go with the brand new Radeon 5970 which is basically two 5870s in one card. This way, if three or four years from now I need to upgrade the graphics, I can just drop an extra Radeon in there for triple or quadruple GPU Crossfire fun. The cost of the combined card is less than two cards Crossfired.

And I splurged: SSD boot-and-app 'hard drive', overclocking an i7-920, extra sound proofing and cooling features.

With 1000W PSU I should be able to overclock the GPU, too.

I expect that from the time I hit the power-on button, ten seconds later I'll be entering Grandville with all settings maxed and no lag.

And I know I paid extra for features that I could have done myself... I'm ok with that.

    Frankenslotting?

Sniper powers is a good example of something you might want to Frakenslot because there are so many aspects that you want to enhance: ACC, DAM, Interrupt Reduction, Range, Recharge, and even some Endurance Reductions. But the Sniper sets don't cover it all (at least, not as much as I want it to). And so, if you use the triple aspect IOs from different sets, you give up you Set Bonuses, but you gain *a lot* of enhancing.

E.g., my Dark Defender has the snipe power, Moombeam slotted,
    • Extreme Measures: ACC/Interrupt/Range
    • Extreme Measures: ACC/Range/Recharge
    • Executioner's Contract: Damage/Range
    • Executioner's Contract: Damage/Recharge
    • Sting of the Manticore: ACC/Interrupt/Range
    • Sting of the Manticore: DAM/Interrupt/Range

    This gives:
    • ACC: 63.6%
    • DAM: 73.7% (pre-ED 74.2)
    • Interrupt: 76.4%
    • Range: 52% (pre-ED 54%)
    • Recharge: 69%

    That's 334.7% worth of enhancement.

Six IOs (ACC, DAM, Recharge, Range, 2xInterrupt) would have only been 252% worth of enhancements.

Sting of the Manticore would have been 293% worth of of enhancements looking like this:
    • ACC: 47.7%
    • DAM: 91.78% (pre-ED 95.4%)
    • Interrupt: 50.9%
    • Range: 12.75%
    • Recharge: 42.4%
    • End Redux: 42.4%

Which is a lot less Range, Recharge, and Interrupt Redux that I wanted (with a lot of Interrupt Redux, a snipe can be used often in battle rather than just a lead-off shot).

Besides, my Frankenslotting still gives me the bonuses of: 1.5% Recovery; 2% Recovery; and, 12% Regeneration. That extra Recovery is worth not slotting for End Redux.
  21. Any high-defense Scrapper. If you're not hit, you're not hurt, you're not mezzed, and you're not debuffed.

It doesn't hurt to slot IO bonuses for Accuracy and to have a flight power (even the Shard fly pack) to fly over slow patches or to catch up with flying mages. Teleport is also a great remedy for Knockdown, Slow, or Caltrop patches.

Perhaps it's the chance of the Lord Winter's Realm present that is keeping it from happening in city zones, since those don't seem to spawn in Mercy.
During the Halloween Beta, a concurrent event with the Deadly Apocalypse (such as the Steel Canyon fire event) was overriding the navigation display of where to find the banner markers or the final GM.

And so, they set the Deadly Apocalypse to exclusive to other events.

Does anyone else have this problem? The Paypal account I am using worked great for reactivating my subscription, I am confused why it wont work for this. I have also contacted NC support and they just sent me a email confirming it was resolved (which it wasn't).

Any suggestions on what to do?

  24. Try to get to the HijackThis site listed above or here:

    www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/tools/security_tools/hijackthis

When you install HijackThis do not install it in a directory called 'HijackThis' -- modern viruses look for that and disable anything in that directory. Rename it. Also, when it starts up, do *not* run a report. Back out of the program and rename the HijackThis.exe file to something else (I renamed mine to Love.exe ) -- again, to fool the modern viruses that would stop it from running.

If you can't download it on the affected computer, download it to some other computer. You can use a home network to transfer it to the infected computer, or use a thumb drive to transfer it. Or even burn it to a CD-ROM.

Go to the forums of Malwarebytes and follow these directions and post your HijackThis log in the HijackThis forum and those more knowledgeable than me will help you from there.

Malwarebytes was able to get rid of what Spybot, Adaware, and AVG couldn't on my machine.
