The current calendar begins with the year 1, not 0. That means year 10 was part of the first decade. This means that 2010 is part of the 'aughts' and not part of the new decade.
Happy New Year of Internet Pedantry! -
Quote:Just yesterday I saw (in my Events messages tab)
The Ghost ship appear in Independence Port.
The Ghost ship appear in Independence Port.
The Ghost ship disappear from Independence Port.
The Ghost Ship disappear from Independence Port.

I think that maybe, there might possibly be more than one Ship ghosting around Paragon. Or else it was beside itself with joy because it got its Holiday wish...
It could be worse....

Here's a vid of my set up.
I put the main city zones by level and paired them with the hazard/secondary zone that's associated with them.
Atlas - Hollows
Galaxy - Perez
Kings - Pocket D
Sky - Faultline
Steel - Boomtown
Talos -Astoria
Independence Port - Terra Volta
Croatoa - Striga
Founders - Eden
Bricks - Crey's
Peregrine - RWZ (Rikti Crash Site used to be off of PI) -
Quote:69 Month is "Are You Still Here?"Nope. While it doesn't always get updated to the NC Account page in a timely fashion, the website has always had them as soon as announced, and nothing so far.
Not sure about any badge titles from the data diggers though.
72 Month is "Your Estate Hasn't Canceled your Cards Yet, Right?" -
I believe the mission is still bugged. Snaptooth dives into the ground and comes back up an untouchable friendly EB. You can't kill him and thus, the mission can't be completed.
That was this summer. Haven't seen a Patch Note saying it's fixed. -
Quote:Ah...Only one of them actively buffs you, but the 322958 map has FF/Ice allies with Dispersion Bubble, a passive buff that stacks -- and the map has enough allies to stack to the defense hardcap if you're anything but a tank.
Without the allies, it makes for an interesting exercise in juggling for my Plant/Storm controller. With them, it's borderline exploitative.
That explains it. -
You can go to the Shard and pick up the Fly Pack and use it for short bursts of extra speed.
Or, buy the GvE edition and get the jump pack which will give your Hover near flight-cap speeds for 30 seconds at a time. -
You'd be a lone in that assessment. I can not figure out why.

You might have a bigger boost with a Solid State Drive: Anand says...
In about two weeks, I'll be getting my new rig (already ordered) that has a SSD as the boot drive and will be the home to CoH. I'll let you know how it goes.
BTW, it's a bit more expensive solution. -

Well, it's Quickness on top of normal EB/AV speed which is pretty fast. If you've ever had an EB/AV as a companion/pet in a mission it's surprising how fast they'll move to catch up to you.
Synapse, OTOH, is literally a blur. Mostly because he has a unique trailing blur aura (just like... <.<. ... .>.> The Flash).
He's kinda funny to watch especially when he does things like go up a building fire escape and you see that blur zig zag up a building. And he does it with such precision and no halting in pathing... so why can't slower critters have just as good pathing?
In Castle's MA arc, if you agro Synapse at the top of the set of double stairs and you turn left into the landing mid-way, Synapse zooms right by you since he's slightly airborne at that landing and can't alter course until he lands at the bottom.
And... Synapse doesn't have any jump powers, so my MM stays on the top of a rack out of sight and sends the pets to kill him as he's zipping around trying to find a path to me.
Synapse is funny. -
Quote:Except that Mids is 100% accurate in this regard. I've double checked Mids' info with City of Data and real in-game testing looking at real numbers.I don't have Mids, and the long history of people getting erroneous information from Mids and basing their thinking around it (Phalanx Fighting, for one recent well-known issue) would lead me not to use Mids for this sort of information even if I had it.
Mids was off on Hover after Castle boosted the base speed of Hover, but that is now correct. -
Quote:Base Fly Speed is 14.32 mph. Cap at 50 is 58.63. Therefore, to hit the cap at level 50 you need an extra 44.31 mph speed which is a 309.43% fly buff (in addition to base speed). We've discussed flight speed caps before, and as I understood it, the general conclusion was that two slots in flight (the base plus one) and the base slot in Swift, all filled with SOs or better, will cap flight speed.
Can anyone tell me what total percentage enhancement caps flight speed? If I knew that, I could pick a given level of, say, Blessing of the Zephyr set and/or additional increase from set bonuses and arrive at the same flight speed cap by accumulating an equivalent percentage of flight enhancement.
Unenhanced Fly at level 50 provides a FlySpeed buff of 215.5%. The buffs in Fly break down as so:
- FlySpeed +1.365 for 0.75s If NOT on a PvP map
- FlySpeed +0.8 for 0.75s If NOT on a PvP map [Ignores Enhancements & Buffs]
- FlySpeed +1 for 0.75s [Ignores Enhancements & Buffs]
- FlySpeed -1.01 for 0.75s [Ignores Enhancements & Buffs]
If you put a level 50 IO FlySpeed in Fly, it's FlySpeed buff (215.5%) is increased by 42.4% for only the enhanceable part of 1.365%. That brings Fly with a level 50 Fly IO to a total of 273.38%. And that gets you near the cap: 309.43 - 273.38 = 36.05% more FlySpeed buffs to hit the cap. - FlySpeed +1.365 for 0.75s If NOT on a PvP map

Quote:Well while you can certainly wait them out or deal with the problem readily enough other ways >>> rikti drones, PP doing their MoG thing etc. come to mind. There is a certain satisfaction in having one toon that can just giggle and pound the snot out of them rather than "whiff, whiff, whiff"Just FYI: Rikti drone have no special DEFENSE v. AOE. Use AoE against them and they burst like fireworks rather quickly.Quote:According to Surveillance, even con Rikti Drones have somewhere in the realm of 30% defense. Add that to the effects of the purple patch, and it's not unusual to find yourself floored against them. Night Widows also have considerably high defense, which they always stack with their obscene Smoke Grenades. PPD have those completely broken Flashbang Grenades, which are something like 44% debuffs.
When either defense or -toHit is present in NPCs, it tends to be pretty high. And the effects of the purple patch can be pretty steep, especially when the player doesn't have the enhancements to deal with it. -
One solution to the revamp-is-as-much-work problem is to clone the zone, and revamp the cloned zone leaving the original in place.
The revamped zone could then be from some other dimension. Or, the revamped zone could be the new Primal Earth zone, but the legacy version is accessible through a dimensional portal. This would allow the devs to create a hero and a villain version (a la Ouroboros) or a co-op version.
And so, no legacy assets would be lost but there could be new zones that complement the story of an existing zone.
There's no reason why we can't visit the old Faultline or Rikti Crash Site as they exist on another dimension.
There's no reason why the Shard can't be cloned and the cloned version accessible to villians (with FBZ a non-entry point).
After all, Peregrine Island was cloned so that villains would have access to Monster Island (and the rest of the city was walled off). -

The AI is supposed to be that if you have more than one friendly buffer, only one of them buffs you.

Quote:I tested this this past July:Hm. I seem to recall Tomax showing his damage effects being flagged [Ignores enhancements and buffs]. Either I misremembered that, or it's changed, I'm not sure which. I noted it quite some time back, definitely before I9.
I tracked a DS's damage with and without a HO: Damage/Mez. The Damage HO had no effect on the amount of damage done by Chill of the Night. But it did affect Tenebrous Tentacles.
Tentacles only does about 18 points of damage. So slotting for damage will bump that to about 35, or 46 if their on a Tar Patch. Since it's a cone that is balanced around hitting 5 foes at once, then that's 130 points of damage if optimally used, or, about 70 if not slotted for damage.
If you're running Assault, then that's 154 points of damage optimally cast and slotted and 83 points without slotting.
