Sound like an overheating issue. Try using Speedfan and check your tempurature.

Quote:Actually, both the 'real numbers' in the game and in City of Data are incorrect. It's actually 225 feet. Mid's has been notified of the errata and should be updated with the next update which is soonish.Team Teleport's range of 25 feet really makes it a useless power.
Anyone who has Team TP can verify that you can teleport *a lot* farther than just 25 ft.
(Teleport, in comparison, is 300 feet unenhanced. Two Range SOs in Team Teleport bring the range to 315 ft.) -

Ah, then you need to know the basics of macros:
http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Macro
A macro creates a button for you to click in order to enact the command you associated with that button.
And so, if you type this into your command line:
/macro cc2 "em none$$cce 1 cclightning$$l Kablam!"
It will create a icon-button in your tray that says 'cc2' on it. Then, when you click on the button that says 'cc2', it will clear out any currently running emotes (em none) and then start the costume change emote that's a strike of lightning (cclightning) and it will change you to costume slot #1 (which is what you would think of as costume slot #2, but the game counts the first slot as zero). Then at the same time it says in local chat ('l') "Kablam!". -
First, you need the creative design team to come up with an idea for an enemy group. This would be Positron's design and story-telling team: Hero 1, Horatio, Dr. Aeon, and War Witch.
Next, you'd need you character artists to draw up some sketches of what they might look like. Everyone on the design team gets to make comments until a final draft is composed. Design artists are: N8, Carotello, and David Nakayama.
Then it's over to JLove and Cherryl to skin the models. And Ken Morse overseeing all of the art projects.
Then it's over to BAB, Keetsie, Colin, Nelson, and Ron to animate them... depending on what attacks they have.
That brings us to the Powers team to determine type of attacks and the mechanics behind the attacks. That would be Castle and his team: Synapse, Sunstorm, and Andy. -

When you say updated everything, have you updated Windows? The GPU driver? The CPU/chipset driver (go to manufacturer's website for that)?
Check out this thread, Common Solutions & Posting Guidelines
Then post the results of these two programs:
- CoH Helper - it will show us basic computer settings and your CoH configuration.
- HijackThis - it will show us what's running on your computer concurrently with CoH. Click on "Do a system Scan and save a logfile." It will automatically open up Notepad and put the info there. Make sure Wordwrap is off in Notepad (Format > Wordwrap unchecked) before you cut and paste here.

Quote:Actually, you've just made a very compelling argument of why to continue to allow such NPC transgressions.
Well the radio was on and Spongebob's "Don't Be a Jerk...
I decided to slap that little critter with Radiation Emission and then I ran inside with a giggle.
All of a sudden, here comes this little freakling (twenty four levels above me) running up and preparing to lob a boulder at me! Kapow!! I'm now one with the chewing gum on the floor. -

There are two problems here:
1. Staying logged into the forums without having to put your name and password in each session, or even after opening each thread. This is a cookie issue with Firefox and almost always clears up when one takes the steps outlined above.
2. Have the boards update your cookies to keep track of threads read so that you see which threads are new and can jump to 'last read' in a thread. This is an acknowledged bug which corporate services are working on. Ironically, it's logging out and back in which will update your cookies, which is exactly the unwanted behavior of problem #1. -
Quote:We can't help you if you won't run the scans we ask you to.I already have a virus scanner installed which keeps itself up to date, nothing has been detected thus far. The scheduled full scan is tomorrow.
I ran another test with Dragon Age: Origins - it is now also crashing. So it's not just a CoH issue. I called Dell, they agreed to send a replacement card. Crossing my fingers....
I've caught about 20 infected systems from these scans from people in this forum who had anti-virus running. No AV program is foolproof. In fact, most have about an 80% success rate, much less than what people think it would be. -
Quote:My quick route to the Midnighter's Club/Cimerora blueside, if I am not on a team:
- Get to base (either base teleporter or entrance).
- Go to Ouro crystal, take the Percy Winkley mission (Origins of Power)
- Use Ouro crystal to teleport to contact.
- Quit mission/task force.
I am now at the Croatoa entrance to the Midnighter's Club.Quicker still:Quote:Quicker still, if you're 50: Oro portal, go to a crystal, start mission, take one of Daedalus' arcs Future Threat or Stolen Power, click crystal, go to contact IN CIMERORA, quit task force.
Those are 46-50 Oro missions, I don't know if you get access to those before 50.
When you first unlock Cimerora, pick up a mission from Marcus (who gives out the never-ending radio-style one-off missions) but don't do it.
Then when you want to head to Cim for an ITF, chose that mission and use the Mission Transporter from the MAC Edition. Don't worry about burning the Mission Transporter which has a long recharge time since all the ITF missions are in the same zone.
Do the same for the Shard. -
Quote:While you're waiting, you should try out Champions Online.Maybe if they stopped *screwing around and listened to people...
I do not log into play. No one I know logs into PLAY... ?
Why? We are all waiting on news of GR...
Why not release information?
I do not think they understand that silence encourages nothing. Silence means nothing. Silence doesn't encourage people. It's in fact closer to ignoring people. Ignored people don't log in to play... they find other things to do with their time. -

Quote:Go to Intel chipset site and make sure you have the latest drivers. Make sure you have the latest drivers for all the hardware on that computer: motherboard/CPU, sound, etc...Let's pretend that buying a new video card for the laptop is not currently an option and likely won't be for several weeks, if not a couple months. What's my next best bet? Any tweaks I can pull to get the game working? I'm used to crashing on zoning or switching servers with the old machine, but crashing from the arduous task of standing still in the Shadow Shard seems a bit excessive.
Also, you have a trojan infection:
Go to the forums of Malwarebytes and follow these directions and post your HijackThis log in the HijackThis forum and those more knowledgeable than me will help you from there.Quote:O2 - BHO: Partner BHO Class - {83FF80F4-8C74-4b80-B5BA-C8DDD434E5C4} - C:\ProgramData\Partner\partner.dll

Malwarebytes was able to get rid of what Spybot, Adaware, and AVG couldn't on my machine. -
Quote:Incorrect. General Hammond has a horrible buy back rate (26%) compared to the stores in the Co-op Zones (Cim, Midnighter, and RWZ) (40%).* The Vanguard Quartermaster in the RWZ, Julia Pria in Cimerora and General Hammond in Fire Base Zulu will buy back SOs at the best prices available.
And did you know the Stealth Empowerment Buff doesn't suppress upon clicking things?Quote:* Empowerment buffs that do not suck. All last for 1 hour: +perception, increased recovery (+17% - not bad considering unslotted stamina is +25%), increased attack rate (+20% like siphon speed), knockback protection (10 points). They can be built on the worktables in your base.
What missions would these be? With Safeguard/Mayhem missions, you have to go to the Exploration Badge location to get it.Quote:* Missions that give an exploration badge merely need to be entered and exited. In a few cases, your character may need to stay in the mission for a minute. In no cases, do you have to actually complete the mission.
Only if the mission is in the range of the lowbie. Can't bring a lowbie to a level 50 flashback through a base Pillar, e.g.Quote:* A character lower than 25 can use the Pillars of Ice and Fire to do flashback missions as long as the mission is started for her by a character which is level 25 or higher and the Pillar is located in a base. -

Quote:Which says:Last time I had this I did a search online as well. The only related thing I found on my machine was the Bonjour program (which a few sites considered as "malware") which is installed as part of Apple's i-Tunes /Quick time updates. I uninstalled it just to be safe, and double checked with Hijack This that it was gone. It can also be disabled in Windows services.
Apple's FAQ on Bonjour
Q. Why does my system report Bonjour as spyware/malware?
No, Apple, it's not flagged as malware because it's running continuously, it's flagged as malware because it installed itself secretly without permission and I have an invective of nasty words to say about any program producers who do such underhanded things like this so that they keep a continual foot-in-the-door on my computer.
In order to provide you accurate information about services on your local network, Bonjour needs to run continuously in the background. Some security systems have not yet been updated to recognize Bonjour as legitimate system software.
