    Subscription

I did a quick look for this and didn't see it, so I thought I'd mention it (if I somehow failed to notice that is actually is already in the game, well... feel free to laugh and point. I haven't really checked in-game, but didn't notice it...)

I am wondering if it would be possible to subscribe to AE mission authors that you like. If you enjoyed someone's arc, you could get a notification for their future work.

    Just a thought.

    Oh good, an official discussion.

Can someone please reassure me that this is not going to become the only way to play and update City of Heroes?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hate to admit this is the first time I've even heard of Steam.
  3. I feel so dumb. I saw only the "Play" option and figured that was it. Helps to actualy, you know, click the mission. Sorry and thanks.
  4. Please remind me how this is done. Can I edit locally and have it affect the published version? They say not to unpublish, as you will lose the ratings. I did a quick search without finding an answer, so any info is appreciated.
  5. Buying this ASAP.

Also: costume change emotes? YAY! Finally!
  6. That is possibly the funniest thing I have ever read here.
  7. Any idea when these activate?

My account info says I get it today, but so far there's nothing.
  8. I will spend it working. I always miss out.

I work 8 AM to 11PM Saturday amd Sunday

At this time, we’re not quite ready to disclose longer term plans. We’ll have the usual slate of announcements when we’re ready to reveal our plans. But, what I can say is that we’re building this new studio not just to maintain the status quo. We’re looking beyond the normal slate of free Issues for City of Heroes.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Here's hoping that isn't "we're looking past the free issues to the paid expansions."

I'd pay a certain amount, but not an extra $15 or whatever every 3 months.

Also... How about people who bought both games getting extra slots for chars?
  10. Yeah, well, once again I am being punished for being born in Quebec.

Like living here wasn't already punishment enough.

You know - you could submit that kind of thing to the submissions box. You never know what might show up in the community pages of the comic or on the website.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Doesn't the fact that I'm a UK subscriber on a US server kinda automatically disqualify me from that kinda stuff?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Let me take this opportunity to emphasize something.

Unless a contest rule specifically states that you are not eligible then you ARE eligible.

The only time you are usually excluded is if the contest results in a prize with a cash value.

Thus, you have been eligible for the comic cameo contests and the website screenshot contests we have had in the past.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, in my case, living in Quebec= not eligible for anything anywhere with anyone.
  12. Several months ago, Posi mentioned this and how it would work. He had the idea, but not the time to implement it. So, yes, it could theoretically come someday, but he said not any time soon.

In my College gaming club (this is not an exageration nor a lie) I had a friend who wanted us to try COC.

Edited to remove a funny, but potentially offensive joke. I will let you all draw your own conclusions.

    Changes to Rage

It's odd, because to me, it seems like a shorter pause then ten seconds. I also don't have to mash the attack button because I just watch the animation to let me know when I can act again. It goes pretty fast as far as I am concerned. I like Rage quite a bit, but I use it according to the situation I am in.

    Changes to Rage

    [ QUOTE ]

SS has horrible DPS , horrible End cost, and even with Rage I find the Damage lack luster.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I have a question...

I am honestly curious about the damage issue here. My main is a SS tank. My alts are a variety of other ATs. My other tank is a much lower level than my main, so I don't have much of a point of reference, damage-wise.

Is SS really that bad? When I use Rage, I am able to one-shot yellow-con mobs or drop orange-con mobs to somewhere between 5 and 10% health (again, with 1 hit). I don't have any other characters who can do this. At best, my others can take a white-con down in 2 hits. I have had other players see me use knockout blow ( sigh, I can't stop calling it uppercut...) on an enemy and the reaction is ofter "OMG!" "Wow!" and such.
I don't find that underpowered, personally. Sure my other attacks drop off fairly drastically after that, but I still find my damage to be quite good. As I said though, I don't have much to compare to, as I don't usually watch other people's damage.

If you dont think lvl 50s are canceling in mass then your just not paying attention.
All you carebears think your good because you can kill computer AI that I mastered 10 minutes after starting my first character, in comic books heros fought all the time. Give us a pvp server atleast where we can transfer and escape carebear land.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not to be nitpicky, but it's "en masse".
Anyhow, I am enjoying my game. For me, creating a character with personality and a backstory is what's fun. I look forward to hitting the higher levels, but am not desperate to do so (good thing, too, since leveling up seems to have ground to a halt since hitting level 20 or 21...)
I still beat on greys, because as I fly to my mission, I see that poor lady getting robbed for like the gazillionth time and I go rescue her again. If I fly past, I feel guilty and double back to help. Why? Because I am a hero. That's what I play the game for. I like to be the hero. I enjoy the process. For me, the game is a blast. Just flying around can be fun sometimes.
I think the book analogy was a good one. I don't race to the last page and go "alright, I'm finally on the last page. Now the story can start! What? What do you mean that's all there is? What has the author been DOING? The story isn't supposed to STOP at the end..."
