I think somewhere around 23 seconds is the record based on a TP chain.

You are *seriously* underestimating the amount of work and time it takes to whip up new content, especially content that's only played for 3 weeks a year.

The Devs have been very good about adding something new to each event so there is indeed new content for the hardcore gamers, but it's naive to think they can deliver enough new content to keep daily players busy for three weeks experiencing new stuff every day. Hardcore gamers are always blowing through new content immediately and coming back asking for more.

Holidays aren't polite enough to be evenly spaced through the year for our convenience.
Next year: Southern Hemisphere Winter Event in July!
  4. All events are on switches. They can be manually turned on or off, or a timer set up to turn them on or off. They are not patches, though, if there is a last minute change to an event before it starts, they would need to bring the servers down for that patch and then start the event.

Back when we had daily, then twice-a-week, maintenance periods, the Devs would time events to the maintenance periods for the sake of server stability.

Since maintenance is only once a week now and the servers much more stable, they don't need to time event starts and finishes with maintenance periods.

I've been online when a Winter Event ended. The presents just stop spawning.

    KHTF bug

This bug has been discussed on the forums before and /bugged in-game many times.

I added it to our player-maintained Known Issues list: paragonwiki.com/wiki/Known_Issues#Missions
  6. OK, then. It's just that your recent postings have seemed to fall in the dev-hater camp (using every opportunity to slam them). While there is some criticism to be made at times (and I have), this bug is a low priority and rather fresh compared to some of the other long-standing bugs (see here).

Basically, bugs that aren't deal breakers and easily worked around can take a *long* time to fix since they go to the bottom of the priority pile. They aren't fixed until bug fixing time is scheduled (and more pressing bugs are taken care of) or, if a Dev finds some free time (finishing up a project ahead of schedule).

Some graphical anomalies I've bugged didn't get fixed for over two years.

You see, I'm getting a really bizarre graphical error. No matter which server I log onto, Im getting this strange effect with the ground.... it won't stay in place. In other words, my avatar is almost constantly running knee or possibly waist deep in asphalt and pavement. The severity of the error seems to change depending on the camera angle and whether or not my avatar is actually moving.

So, I've got two questions concerning this. One, ihas anyone ever had this problem before? And two, how can I fix it? I'm running the game on Vista, nearly 20 gigs of open memory, 2 gigs of RAM, and an ATI Radeon X1270 graphics card.
Others who had this problem had it clear up by updating their video card drivers. While you're at it, make sure Windows is updated and go to your manufacturer's website and see if their are updates for your motherboard chipset/CPU drivers.

If that doesn't fix it, then check out this thread, Common Solutions & Posting Guidelines

Then post the results of these two programs:

    • CoH Helper - it will show us basic computer settings and your CoH configuration.
    • HijackThis - it will show us what's running on your computer concurrently with CoH. Click on "Do a system Scan and save a logfile." It will automatically open up Notepad and put the info there. Make sure Wordwrap is off in Notepad (Format > Wordwrap unchecked) before you cut and paste here.

    Yes, Synapse said so.

Has anyone done enough testing to verify that? Don't think so.
  9. You're all forgetting the new or casual player who hasn't been in the game every day of every event for the past three years. If the events were curtailed, they'd be whining instead.
  10. Hardly anyone from Virtue is complaining. For the first two weeks I left a toon from my second account atop the Advanced Course with IR on auto-cast. Most who tried got the gold.

If you're going for the server record, sure. But setting that up is a huge chore compared to simply using a second build for SuperJump and adding in Ninja Run and Sprint. That's sufficient for Gold. Add in IR on top of that for truly amazing downhill speed.

    Or, double IR.
  12. I hate how I was forced to click on every present I saw!
  13. Designing *good* puzzles is a skill set that not everyone has, not even good mission story-tellers.

If you're going to add puzzles to the game, you'll probably need a new hire.

You're confusing Baphomet with Behemoths, you bigoted demonist!

    Boss 'C' Drops

Also remember: "Pool C" is really the newly combined "Pool C + Pool D", and, it's 'weighted' so the more used recipes drop more often. This new weighted combined pool is the same reward table for Boss C+D drops, Gold Ticket Rolls, and Rare Recipe Merit Vendor Rolls.

Is this your thing now? Dropping into every thread and taking a dig at the game and developers?

I've had several experiences lately with CS while playing the game, and while every encounter I've had was resolved satisfactorily (in most cases very quickly) it was still frustrating. A portion of my frustration may be because my play time is so limited that spending time waiting for Customer Support is like nails on a chalkboard, but that is a personal issue.

There are a few things I try to remember however, every time that I am dealing with customer support that makes the whole experience much more easy to deal with.

    1) CS is incredibly busy, especially if you play during peak hours. I can take a break and check my market bids every so often throughout the day as long as I'm not super busy, they can't.

    2) The standard list of questions is there because it works. While it may not be necessary for many interactions, it's been tried and true to significantly address a large portion of issues that arise. I have to answer the same questions when I interact with CS as you folks do, and most of the time (although not all) I know exactly whats going on.

    3) Communication in written format is difficult, especially when there is a heavy use of jargon and slang. The language used is changing and heavily relies on somewhat obscure acronyms. Make sure to explain things as clearly and concisely as possible, and always try to explain things as if you were doing so to someone who has never played the game before. While our GM's are familiar with our game, MoSTF is not necessarily how we refer to it internally.

    4) Lower tiers of support do not have the same latitude in addressing issues that higher tiers of support have. That means that getting issues addressed that are more complicated or difficult to resolve takes longer. Always ask yourself if the fix of the situation is worth your time.

    5) When you have to contact support, and then wait for a while, you are probably not happy. The GM you have contacted may be finishing an 8 hour shift after dealing with dozens of people who have been a little peeved. And by a little peeved, I'm slightly understating things, similar to calling the invasion of Normandy a minor fracas.

    6) If you do have a negative interaction, it is important for our feedback process for us to understand why (and correct the issue if appropriate and possible). Escalating the matter to a higher level of support or contacting support through email for a more full examination of the interaction is appropriate. Identifying trouble areas is key to any improvement in process.

Hope this advice helps a bit,

  20. We can now have animated tails, only they can't be combined with capes... and the tails are attached to the back of the neck.
