Congratulations David!
But a question:
Ken Morse is (was?) the Art Lead. So, how can the Art Lead promote someone else to Art Lead without he himself being promoted, demoted, laterally moved, or fight the new Art Lead in a battle to the death? -
Quote:So why isn't someone from marketing or publishing here to answer the questions?Since I'm not part of the publishing or marketing aspect of the game, I don't have the insight or knowledge required to answer your questions directly...
Why isn't Customer Relations handling this as the go-between, which is their job? Why isn't EMpulse, who is head of Customer Relations here handling this? Why doesn't she even have her PMs enabled?
It seems that Paragon Studios is still divided Cryptic v. NCSoft, i.e., developers v. publishers. Developers interact, publishers only reluctantly react to outright problems (such as connectivity issues through a support ticket). Why can't the NCSoft publishing arm actually communicate with the player base like the developers do?
We've had Jack Emmert and Matt Miller talk to us, why can't Bryan Clayton? -
Calvin Scott and the Ghouls sound great, I heard them open for The Dave Matthews Band last week.

Quote:Yep, that was it. As an exploit, they don't announce it until they're pretty sure the Patch is stable and doesn't need to be reverted. So, expect Patch Notes that announce a fix to an exploit to be purposefully delayed after the Patch goes Live.I'd be very surprised if this wasn't simply removing a horrible AE exploit that was allowing people to go 1-50 in less than an hour.
Mission Architect
- Fixed a bug that allowed players to control high level pets in MA missions while exemplared.

Well, it's possible the Monsters in these TFs are doing something unique (like the very big Devouring Earth Monsters having Giant Monster HP), but City of Data says they have Archvillain Resistance and not Giant Monster Resistance.

Quote:I don't know if it's been increased but the Titan's attacks have a base ACC modifier of 150% and the Salt Crystal attack will lower your DEF by 200%.I think there was a significant change to the Eden trial (compared to last year) in that the accuracy of the Titan's attacks have been massively increased. Previously it was possible to fight the Titan without Ambrosias by gulping down a whole load of defense insps. Doesn't seem to work very well nowadays so Ambrosias are necessary for melee at the very least for the team to be successful (unless you've got your illusion controller handy).

Quote:I'm not taking take-a-break advice from someone who has a how-to-PuG template ready to paste into multiple threads. Now Zombie, why in the heck...?
I mean, how do you even get to the place where you're like..."Wonder what would happen if I activated Ninja Run and used Follow on a civilian?"
It might be time for you to take a break from the game, my friend.

Have you ever wondered what would happen if a bunch of players ever turned on Walk and decided to /follow each other? -
Brutes generally do one of two things: either take the initial alpha and enjoy the fury boost it gives, but have to be saved by the rest of the team since they can't solo the spawn; or, they let someone else take the alpha and then immediately jump in and save their butt.
Only certain Brutes built in certain ways can take the roll of a hero-side Tanker. Expecting any old PuG Brute to do that is stupid. -
Trivia: The internal name for Essences of the Earth is Hambrosia.

Quote:Nope.Theoretically this shouldn't mean anything against the Titan as the critter is supposed to con as a monster and be equal level against all participants.
That's Giant Monsters that use the 'purple scaling code.' In missions, they get downgraded to Monster rank which is basically a re-skinned AV. Which means that if the team is level 39, a level 41 (or maybe 42) Monster winds up being like a +3 or +4 AV. Which would not be a problem for most teams except the Titan does untyped damage which gets by all defenses unless you have the Ambrosia. -

You haven't seen slo-mo Ninja Run until you turn it on and set yourself to follow a civilian walking down the street.

I've hunted Crey in Bricks since the 5th been back and I've not had a problem... they're still everywhere.
If you exit the Bricks tram and go straight, there are scads of them around the residential buildings with the maze of walls.
Or, go from the tram to the Crey's Folly gate. There are plenty street level and even more on the roofs. -
Quote:So, I suppose you want me to be in you Closed Beta, eh?3. i16 Open Beta specifically said to /bug in game AND post it on the forums. I followed both instructions

Return the folders containing your updater to their original wording.
Store the keybinds in a different folder without spaces, e.g., E:\Binds\ -
Quote:I think after six years of playing almost exclusively on PuGs, I've paid enough attention. You know tanker taunt applies -range, right? Taunting will get outliers to come closer so their ranged attacks will reach, and if they have a mix of melee and ranged attacks they'll often decide to switch over once they're closer. Yes, it's a bad idea to taunt the same one over and over, but (no offense intended) I kind of suspect from your tone that you weren't actually paying attention to what's going on in all cases here and that may not have been quite what was happening.

And you do know that the -range debuff attached to Taunt is relatively recent, no?
And as the actual words I typed explicitly referenced, I am indeed talking about those Tankers that keep Taunting the same ranged toon that's not switching over to melee.
But, to the general thread: Here is a video of how a D3 can herd a group into debuffed insignifcance. If a team would wait for me to round them up like they would for a Tanker to herd, then it would be the same result. As you watch the video, remember, I'm a single Defender with an aggro cap full of foes gunning for me. I have their full attention. If there were some blasters on the team, that spawn would be gone in 3 seconds instead of 15. -
If you want a tightly packed herd, my Dark Defender can do that better than any Tanker with an AoE debuff anchor and Tar Patch and then either hiding or backing out far enough. Even the ranged-shooting foes will run into the patch. Nothing aggravates me more than watching a Tanker standing in one spot Taunting a range-using foe over and over again with that range-using foe continuing to stand far away because...
IT'S A RANGE-USING FOE -- IT'S NEVER GOING TO COME RUNNING TO YOU NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES YOU TAUNT IT SO STOP TAUNTING IT AND DO SOMETHING USEFUL LIKE GOING OVER TO IT AND HITTING IT!!
Now, while herding a spawn into a tightly pack group on a Tar Patch won't satisfy the usual whine of "That's not Tanking because you're not locking down aggro and I might actually take some damage so therefore, you're useless to me!", I can also throw about 100% -ToHit on that tightly packed group and Immobilize them so that it's unlikely they'll ever hit you or run up to you, and if they do, I got that covered with -Damage and a powerful AoE Heal. -
It's why we raise our hand to talk in school. You can't hear 30 people at once.
And you can't read ten thousand bug reports a day.
And you can't change how Closed Beta works no matter how many times you post about it, whether whining, complaining, or 'innocent questioning' about it. -

Quote:BAB: "Oil Slick? WTH?"Yes it does. Just like when it blew BAB's mind when Oil Slick Arrow+Howling Twilight was used to stage a mass rez while players were testing the (then newly) modified Hami raid some time back. Still works the same.
