Quote:More than likely we'll come across a divine creature we need to defeat and capture. Then that divine creature's power will be ours, which will allow us to capture the next divine creature and it's power.Well, there's also an interesting quote from Postiron from PAX, where he said "the Incarnate system itself, at the start, is going to be 10 levels" - which sounds like future expanison will bring even more Icarnate levels.
Gotta catch 'em all!
ZEUSY-POO! I CHOOSE YOU!!! <lightning and thunderclap> -
Black screen to clipboard on Vista and Win7 is a known issue. The Snippit tool is the solution (and a better tool than just a plain screen capture).

Quote:Heh. Skinless exposed musculature and a skeletal head is just fine, but the head being out of proportion... oh, the horror!!!For once (the world is doomed I know), I kind of agree with you, it's not the cattleheads themselves, it's the fact they look completely out of proportion with the bodies so they just don't look quite right.

Quote:I think we're going to see City of Vigilantes/Rogues because that allows one's toons to play most of the content of both 'cities'.ive read in at least 2 threads so far that claimed that "redside is gonna be so dead cause everyone will switch to blueside", when i saw stuff like that it kind of made me cringe a little because i strongly dislike blueside, the content and tfs are so dull, yes i dont mind the tfs because they are actually worth something merit-wise, but when half a tf is just mind-numbing kill alls on medium to large maps, then i rather be without

Quote:With this particular game-world, the 'incarnate' powers manifested themselves not only in the Gods but in the Heroes. Going by what we see in Cimerora and in Positron's personal table-top game he played with players who arrived early at the last Hero Con (which constitutes background lore we haven't seen in-game) we have:And my guesses for canon characters...
Positron-
Greco/roman: Hephaestus (duh)
Synapse-
Greco/Roman: Hermes
War Witch-
Greco/Roman: Nike or Athena
Back Alley Brawler-
Whatever he wants to be.
Zeus/Imperious/Statesman
Positron/Daedalus
Sister Psyche/Sister Solaris
Ghost Widow/Sister Airlia
Synapse/Marathon (yeah, I know)
Manticore/Orion
Citadel/Parthenon (yeah, I know) -
And if you decide to turn off all personal GFX, see here.

Utilize old zones better? YES.
Re-design old zones (change geometry)? NO.
The second option is almost as resource-draining as creating a brand, new zone. When they can create new, improved zones from scratch that are optimized for using Ultra Mode for only a little bit more resources than 'developing' an old zone, then it just doesn't make sense to 'develop' an old zone.
Is anyone really that much in love with Boomtown, that they want to see it given the Faultline treatment when the devs can make a brand new zone that's twice as good as a 'developed' Boomtown?
Let the old maps get the occasional, minor 'facelift', like what the Holllows got. Let them be settings for new Giant Monster events, or the basis for new MA maps. But just let them be and give us more of the new, improved zones. -
Quote:While mostly correct, the CoV Box was *not* Issue 6. The Box was "City of Villains." Issue 6 was "Along Came a Spider."Its really both. There was an Issue 5 preceding CoV and an Issue 7 following it, either the box was considered Issue 6 or the devs decided to skip that issue like it was the 13th floor. Heroes that did not buy CoV still got a new Issues worth of content with the PvP zones being the big chunk as well as SG-graphics-UI changes that bled over from the CoV labor. Likewise, all signs point to GR being considered Issue 18.
Issue 6, was concurrent with the box, after all, you needed a huge Patch to enable an expansion. Also, as you note, there were universal changes made in the game at that time which weren't limited to just those who purchased the Box: PvP Zones; Gladiators; and the dreaded ED.
Since the Devs skipped over the numbering system (17 before GR and 19 after GR) then we can assume that there will be a huge Patch that will enable the GR expansion called Issue 18. It may or may not have stuff which those who do not purchase the Box will have access to.
Since people will see Heroes leaving hero zones and going to villain zones and vice versa, I'm going to assume that those who do not buy the Box will see some changes with Issue 18. -

I was hoping they would.... You've misinterpreted that sentence, which is ambiguously used for hope fulfilled and hope denied.Quote:Ummm, isn't that what we ARE getting? Unless you don't consider a set that has to be shared a new set... which would be an odd train of thought.
"I was hoping they would do it... and they didn't!"
"I was hoping they would do it... and they did!"
I'm pretty sure BrandX meant, "Good! I was hoping they would have a new set for each AT, and they did it! Every paid expansion should also!" -
I always imagined Incarnates like an extra Power Pool. Most of the Sig Heroes/Villains seem to draw from three Powersets.
If the Incarnate levels open up a ranged pool, then that will be a game-changer for level 50 PvP. -
Now, onto my theory of how Penny Preston and Penny Yin are the same person!

Quote:See links in my sig below.Hey all! After a year+ hiatus (left right before Architect hit), the draw of power customization drew back in. I've noticed a few things are new, such as summons now follow you between zones and when you do an upgrade power for one of your minions, all the minions of that tier get upgraded at once.
What other new changes of importance have come along?
Also, if there's a good source for this info besides digging through a metric buttload of patch notes, let me know! -
If you remember your 3d Cartesian Coordinate System of (x, y, z), then the /loc commands works as (-x, z, -y).

Driver: Sorry, officer, you can't give me a ticket. If my car can do 90 miles per hour, then it must mean it's perfectly fine to do so in every situation.
Officer: That's OK then. Since my gun doesn't have a safety to keep me from shooting speeders, then it's perfectly fine for me to shoot you. <bang> -
While I get the idea of having a character who's attached to the background lore in some way, I'm perfectly satisfied knowing that each and every villain I make is believed to be the Destined One by Lord Recluse. And that each and every hero I make puts an end to the Rikti War and defeats the game's biggest nemesis.
Our PCs *are* the lore of the game. Statesman and Recluse should feel excited to know *me*. -
If you can find and are willing to pay for it, the CoH Collector's Edition has the prestige sprint, Slide, which overrides the run style of Ninja Run.

We don't complain when a long standing under-performing power or AT is buffed. We shouldn't complain when a long standing over-achieving outlier is nerfed, except to say to the Devs, "We told you it was too much!
".
This also was the case when the unintended KB protection was finally removed from Hover. The fact that it's been in the game for a long time is no guarantee that any outlier, mistake, or exploit is protected from going bye-bye.
