You know I count you as an extra-cosmological being, Venture.

  2. And yet, on Virtue, the channel 'VirtueUnited' was resurrected precisely because the Ops were able to get it to work to clear out all the old users.
  3. Depending on the arc, your doppelganger will look exactly like you or purposely be 'off' in some way, or be pure black... all dictated and explained by the story.

The note on the Wiki seemed pretty drastic for how much it was increasing it. A damage buff plus defense while using the power (which is a lot like some suggestions I saw on the forums... making me wonder if this note is incorrect... since HoB never seemed to be THAT bad).

    Just wondering which is correct.
It is part of the Missing Patch Notes.

    Known issue.

Log in the level 46, back out to server selection and you should be able to create a VEAT.

Tailor UpdatesUpdated Costumes - certain costume sets have been specially updated to take advantage of Ultra Mode features:
    • Armored
What is meant is "Armor Plate" because there is no piece simply called 'Armor' and not all skins under the heading of "Armor" have been updated for UM.

    * Spraypaint

    User Interface

    * The color of the splash notices for recipe drops now correspond to the color-coded rarity of the recipe: White for common; yellow for uncommon; orange for rare; and purple for very rare.
    * Now when you respec, there is a "Current Respec Level" counter in the upper right when you're picking powers
    * Fixed a bug which sometimes caused the cursor not to appear in fullscreen mode for Windows Vista.
    * The command "show_bind <key>" shows what commands are bound to the key
    Add:
    • Global Channel Timeout Command: New command: /chan_timeout <channel name> <duration> [listed in Known Issues as not working properly]
      • This is a command to help Moderators manage channels. When the channel timeout is set, users that have not logged in within the duration specified will be removed from the channel
      • The duration is in days
      • Setting duration to zero means there is no limit
      • 7 is the minimum time allowed to be set
      • Only channel moderators can use this command
      • Example: The command below will kick all members of AwesomeChannel who have been logged out more than 30 days:
    /chan_timeout AwesomeChannel 30
    • Apply Now Button Status: In the Options Menu, the “Apply Now” button will now change colors when you select any graphics change that has not been applied yet. Previously, some players were confused by the fact that certain changes require you to select Apply Now before they appear.
    • Chat Hidden: If a player is in a window that cannot display the Chat Window (such as the respec screen) and does not have an /afk message set, the game automatically responds to any /tell with "Chat Hidden".

    CITY OF HEROES

    Powers

    Defenders

    * Dual Pistols/Piercing Rounds: Fixed a bug that would cause this power's PvP damage to be lower than it should be.
    Add:
    • Dual Pistols > Hail of Bullets: Increased this power's overall average damage scale from 3.034 to 3.63 by increasing both the damage done per tick from .444 scale damage to .454 scale damage as well as increasing the chance for this power to deal damage per tick from 50% to 60%. Additionally when using this power, the user will gain a moderate bonus to their melee, ranged and AoE defense for 5 seconds. This defense bonus is unenhanceable and will only apply to the caster if it hits an enemy target within range. Specifically, Blasters gain 9.75% M/R/A, Corruptors gain 11.25% M/R/A, and Defenders gain 15% M/R/A.
    • Fix Unenhanceable Special IOs: The following special IO Enhancements were incorrectly being increased in effect by outside buffs and debuffs. These effects have been changed to be constant and unaffected by Buffs or Debuffs.

Only so much can be done in beta. In the last week of beta, hardly anyone was on. Those who were on got to let the devs know what kind of problems there were and a large proportion of those problems got fixed.

But there's only so much than can be done in beta when the basic graphics engine is being overhauled and not everyone comes in to help test it.

There are thousands of different computer configurations out there... maybe ten or hundreds of thousands. The devs can't set up ten thousand configurations in their QA rooms, they rely on players coming into beta to test out all those configurations. And if all those configurations don't show up to Test and display their problems there to be fixed, then it can only be done on Live.

When things change, it always has a chance to cause problems. Either those problems get exposed in Beta, or, they will be exposed in Live. It's your choice whether to wander into Beta and do a test drive before live or cross your fingers and hope it will be OK when Live hits. If you're lucky, someone else with your configuration went into Beta, found and reported problems, and those problems got fixed, which means you would never have known about a problem your computer would have had if it wasn't for that Beta Tester.

But if you or those with the same configuration don't come to Beta, then problems have a good chance to come to you on Live. And that's what's happened. Nothing can be done about it now (except to report the bugs and wait for it to be fixed while Live). In the future, consider stopping by an Open Beta to avoid problems on Live.

    Help please

Can you be a little more specific on what you need help with?

    Did you install the game?

    Make a character?

    Complete the tutorial?
  9. When I experienced the new mission v. 8 doppelgangers, I immediate thought of you guys. I mentioned how I'd like to see the Repeat Offenders do that mission at +4 and see how it feels like getting from the game what they take to the game. Well, a member of the RO said to remind him when it goes live. He said you'd take on the challenge and wipe it up no problem.

So, how's about it? Get one of your all Dark Corruptor or all Mind Dominator or all-whatever teams and take on Leonard Silmon's first mission at +4 difficulty level and have a battle royale v. yourselves!

    Are ya game?

    Real Talk

This is the buggiest release ever?

Buggier than the one with the rollback?

Buggier than CoV which was incompatible with a much higher number of people's computer set-ups?

Buggier than the invention system which is still being repaired to this day from bugs from launch (this very patch corrected the enhanceability of supposedly unenhanceable special IOs)?

Buggier than the one with the ITF which was unplayable by a significant proportion of the player-base?

    I think not.
  12. This is a great help for MMs who, after Resting to refill, then re-drained their END having to re-summon... and they couldn't Rest again since it was recharging!

Now, if we can only get one-click full-respawning for PvP...

Indeed, from the beginning of Closed Beta, the new villain arcs were universally lauded but the new hero arcs were savagely panned for being the exact opposite of what it's being complimented for now. Due to player feedback, it was extensively revamped. If anyone wonders what the benefit of Closed Beta is, just point to these new hero arcs.

  17. I like how you've adoorned yourself.

((It's just a glitch in reading one texture file for another. A restart of the client should clear it up.))
  18. It seems someone who may perhaps knows Todd can convince him to update TweakCoH or allow someone who knows coding to get the source from him to update it.

Or get the Devs to make clicking 'safe mode' reset all the registry settings to minimum.
  19. Until things stabilize, restarting the client, and even sometimes rebooting your computer should be standard operating procedures for every little glitch or huge honking bugs.

Quite frankly, I don't want to even hear about anyone's problems until they've tried a reboot.

I use white and if I try again in the tailor it is a lot more grey. I even tried a fresh costume slot and no go on that too.

If you start a new toon, you are able to use the Metallic option in all it's new glory. This totally sucks for my already created toons.
After reselecting it at the Tailor's try /unloadgfx to force using the new textures or restarting the client.
  21. It's been said by both BAB and Castle publicly, so, there's a very, very high probability that all the Devs are on board with this:

No matter how long a mistake, bug, exploit, overpowered or underpowered 'thing' has been in the game; if they have the opportunity to 'fix' it, they will, regardless of how many gamers have become attached to it.

    Period.
  22. Enter the game in Safe Mode (a little check box on the updater) so you can undo the Ultra Settings.
  23. Issue 17 Release Notes here

    Costumes

    • The Live Patch Notes added "Armor" to the list of costume sets that have been specially updated to take advantage of Ultra Mode features. What is meant is "Armor Plate" because not all armor skins have been updated.

    • Vanguard is listed as a UM updated, however, both in the tailor and in the world, I do not see any reflections off of Vanguard pieces (I checked Chest > Tight > Vanguard and Chest > Armor > Vanguard).

    New Emotes

    The Release Notes mention
    • Dig
    • Picklock
    • Spraypaint
    • Jackhammer
    • Warmhands
    They leave out:
    • pamphlet
    • vendor
    • batlookout (hold bat in the quickmenu)

    Missing from Release Notes:

    • Dual Pistols > Hail of Bullets: Increased this power's overall average damage scale from 3.034 to 3.63 by increasing both the damage done per tick from .444 scale damage to .454 scale damage as well as increasing the chance for this power to deal damage per tick from 50% to 60%.
