Aww... I'm keen on playing an ordinary non-super lumberjack. What is that other game so I can play one?

To the OP, in both these cases, the "Minor" stealth is simply a descriptive term given by the people who created those pages. It's not an "in-game" or technical description of the powers.
Actually, the in-game mechanics description of the empowerment stealth is 'minor.'

So Going Rogue will be nothing more than City of Glowing Hands. Got it. I'll pass.

Anyway it was this or sticking Kirby's hair on Kirby's head to show what happens if Kirby swallowed Kirby
OK, now for extra fun credit: Create Kirby itself out of pink Kirby Dots.

  9. Just want to reaffirm that point Aggelakis made, since it's so important.

If you want EVERYTHING*, then simply make the one purchase from GameStop.

*Except early access to Dual Pistols and Demon Summoning.
  10. While I don't want to defend all of GameStop's policies, this one makes sense from their perspective:

If GameStop is selling an item which can also be instantly purchased online for the same price, then who would buy it? And if no one buys it, why should they carry it? And if brick-and-mortar stores won't carry it, how is NCSoft going to get their name out there and bring in new customers?

So, it makes perfect sense for both the profitability of NCSoft and GameStop to provide an incentive for customers to go into the brick-and-mortar stores and for the the store to have *something* which can't be found elsewhere, especially online. That means either a discount, or, exclusive items (and by exclusive, it is not meant to be interpreted in perpetuity... exclusivity deals usually have a shelf life).

If this is an issue of money, well then, welcome to the real world. If you want more goodies, then pay for it.

If this is an issue of completionism, well then, certainly NCSoft can assuage the anxiety of completionists by letting us know the length of the exclusivity and by what means we can get the extra goodies later on. Although, doing that might tick off GameStop since they don't want people saying, "Oh, then I can wait and won't go to GameStop." Which means, NCSoft will most likely not respond at all to any questions about how we can get the extra goodies later on.

That's business. And if you were NCSoft or GameStop, you might be doing the same... or worse!
  11. I laid out sample pages for the main lore page, a policy page, and the main trunk of the multiverse page.

    Edit mercilessly. Edit boldly.

I'm not advocating making your lore pages just a bunch of links to other wiki articles, it's just that links to stuff that's there (like the location of a contact) is already there to be linked to.

If you set up your own /Lore/... subdomain, you can structure it however you want, just like you would a standalone wiki. Everything that you're imagining your standalone wiki would do, you can do as a subdomain on Paragonwiki, so, I don't get how you're saying you can't structure things the way you want on Paragonwiki and still talking about using a wiki.... it's the same tools -- structure the subdomain anyway you want.

    Just my two credits.
Not going to happen so all those who've already have asked for this multiple times should stop asking for it.

It would violate their deal with GameStop.

When the period of exclusivity is over, then maybe they can make the GROs available some other way, such as a Vet Reward.

Until then, the only way to get them is through GameStop. Period.

  15. The easiest thing to do right now is create a page called 'Lore'. You can make that the top page of a hierarchy of pages by creating subpages as so:

    • Lore/Multiverse
      • Lore/Multiverse/Rikti
      • Lore/Multiverse/Praetoria
      • Lore/Multiverse/Netherworld
    • Lore/Powers
    • Lore/Archetypes
    • Lore/Races
    • Lore/Technology
The advantage is that as you're writing the lore, it will be really easy to make links to the things you're talking about as they exist in the main namespace, and to link to existing pics.

If that project gets big enough, it might then be spun off into it's own domain, like ouroborosportal.

In the meantime, check out: http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Category:Lore which is a page listing pages marked with lore tags.
  16. Rule of life: Completionists always pay more to indulge their longings.

To be a completionist and complain about that is absurd. Either get used to the idea you're paying more or get over your completionism.
  17. How about anyone in high heels?
  18. Zombie Man

    Ninja Run

If you don't like oversaturation, then I'm surprised that with the oversaturation of the use of zombies* that you'd create a necro thread.

I'm actually not sure which alternative is more likely.
Well the marketing info says: "Security Level 20 Dual Origin Enhancement" which is all sorts of wrong.

TheOcho said 16%, but he was rounding to whole numbers... in the wrong way.

The value of the GROs is 16.66 / 16.66 %. Exactly equal to 2 DOs or 1 SO.

You can trust me on this. I can't say why, but you can.

OK, then, define how other MMOs use 'bind on pickup' for me please.

They're "stronger" than SOs, and they're available at level 1. You also don't have to replace them every few levels.
I'm going to call these new enhancements Going Rogue Origin, or GROs.
    • Even Level DO = 16.66..% enhancement of one aspect.
    • Even Level SO = 33.33..% enhancement of one aspect.
    • Any Level GRO = 16.66..% enhancement of 2 aspects (Dam/Rech) for a total of 33.33..%

So, with regard to the level of enhancement, GROs enhance exactly as much as 1 SO or 2 DOs. The advantages of GROs are...
    1. Like IOs, level doesn't matter, they will always be that strong.
    2. They split SO level enhancement among two aspects which could just be the perfect enhancement needed for a particular slot.
    3. They also have a proc effect.
    4. For 20 levels, they're the strongest enhancements available.

The disadvantages of the GROs are:
    1. They're all Dam/Rech which reduces flexibility for slotting.
    2. They're are only these five.
    3. The proc shuts off at level 21.
    4. Beginning at level 22, any Dam/Rech IO is stronger than a GRO --at level 35, a Dam/Rech IO is 23% / 23%.

    Quote:
They're not The End of the World, and their main benefit is in a level range that tends to pass fairly quickly, but I don't see why people see the need to constantly downplay what they do.
I agree that they shouldn't be downplayed. Until SOs become available at level 22, these are great, but...

    • Any Vet reward attack power (starting with Sands of Mu at 12 months) is worth *a lot* more than these GROs.
    • Levels 1-22 is only about the first 5% of leveling time (and only .4% of XP needed to get to level 50). So, yes, it's the best enhancement available, but only for a rather limited period in the life of a character.

GROs shouldn't be overvalued, nor undervalued -- they're a moderate buff for a limited time.

Yes, they have a proc that has a chance to do extra minor damage, or a knockdown effect. http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Ios#Procs

WRT 'bind on pickup', I've seen that come up in another thread, and I don't understand why. It's got to be the dumbest threadjack I've seen since the game already has 'bind on pickup' in regard to: Merits, Tickets, badges, freespecs, Vet Rewards, prestige items from collector's editions (e.g., Slide and Cape of the Four Winds), costume unlocks, emote unlocks, buffs from hundreds of sources, souvenirs, mission temp powers, and prestige.

Besides, these GROs are in no way 'bind on pickup.' Where do you think you're picking them up from? What are you fighting which then dumps a GRO into a power that you have to let be or loose it? It's not going to work like that.

Not having a moderator for even a few hours leaves them liable for anything that happens here. Legally liable. Which is bad for them.
No business can police everything that happens on their premises every single second of the day over every square inch. Even when they have a personal incentive to do so (e.g., to stop shop lifters), they can't have that kind of omniscient view of everything at all times.

Courts take into account the *reasonable* procedures a business has in place to protect itself and its customers and whether they adhered to their own procedures.

Stories of winning lawsuits of negligence are overinflated in the retelling, because most of them get dismissed, don't win, or are settled out of court just to get rid of the nuisance and the court fees.

No one is going to win any damages because they were exposed to nasty stuff on these boards because the Mod went home to sleep and only caught things the next morning. Ain't gonna happen.
