I kind of expect to be doing that with at least one of my characters... I prefer to imagine her being powerful on her own and not relying on power gained from an outside source. I'll play through, read all the relevant background, etc and then say "uh-huh... nice. Doesn't apply to me."

I've seen a number of Kheldians who stay in human form and RP that they are normal humans with "powers similar to a Kheldian"...
  2. Actually, what I have said before and will say again now that many, many characters will now have at least 3 extra power choices freed up, is that I would love for them to add a bunch of new power pools, offering more opportunities for us to differentiate characters.

As I was reading the opening post, I kept waiting for that to be said.

Personally, I see no real issues with this. I have had 2 slightly doom-ish thoughts, though... First, I'm one of those who has made a few "normal" human characters, without any travel pools and Fitness will now have me running faster and jumping higher than normal humans, whether I like it or not. I also dread doing cave missions with Swift and any other permanent speed bonuses (either from IO sets, or whatever) making me bounce off the walls more than I do already. Or maybe escorting characters out of missions and having them lose me even more often than they do now. Overall, though, I can live with it and even enjoy it on most characters.

The other, more doomy thought that I have had is "OMG, they're giving us all the things we have asked for! It must be because these are the final days of the game! NOoooooooo!"

Except that, somewhere around the time of the first movie, there was a story in the newspapers about a highschool girl who had invented something for a school project that top scientists had been working on unsuccessfully for years. I'll have to try to research it, but I think ultimately it went to Dow chemicals... It was too long ago for me to remember clearly. But the point is, a real-life teenaged girl created something that professional scientists were unable to do, but it was "too unrealistic" for Peter to be that smart.

The wisecracks started as a way to cover his nervousness.

    Win.

For the record, I like her, too. I think she is great, but she isn't anything like Aunt May.

    What?
  8. With each new update on this film, my interest wanes further and that really ticks me off because Spidey is one of my all-time favourite heroes.

I want real Lex back, too. even if this kid is a perfect clone, with 100% of Lex's memories, personality, etc, etc, etc, he just still be a copy. A perfect copy, but a copy, nonetheless.

I't like when O'Brien died on DS9 and had his alternate/ future self replace him. I spent the rest of the series thinking of him as "fake O'Brien".
  10. I thought Ryan Reynolds was playing every superhero. I heard he was even up for Wonder Woman.
  11. Hmm. Frustrating. Looking quickly, I couldn't find it... I know it was on a trailer, which made me think perhaps I saw t on the Origin pack trailer and confused the two, but neither video that's up now shows the date.

It's just annoying because I know I saw it somewhere, but I can imagine that people will thik that I am rumour-mongering or something. I know I saw it. I should have linked to it right away, but I figured everyone had already seen it as well, so there was no point.

I have to find the link... It was in a trailer or something... I saw it a few days ago, I think through Facebook. There was a trailer and at the end they flashed November 9. I remember because it was the first time I saw a date and I was excited that it was so close.
  13. Since everyone is speculating as to the relese date, does that mean that the announced date of November 9th has changed?

    Marvel + Tron

I'll be waiting someplace safe until this blows over.....

    This.

I didn't care for the early trailers for a number of their films, but always wound up seeing them and loving them. I have no doubt that I'll be in the theater with my son watching this.

I LOVED the black costume. I thought it was a great costume and I loved the whole speech Peter gave in one issue about how the red-and-blues had been intended to help him get into show-business and were thus flashy, but the black one was symbolic of him getting older and maturing. I thought it was perfect. Too bad it had to be ruined with Venom.

So... is he really getting another new costume? Since the previous ones worked out so well.
  18. I was excited for Smallville when it started 10 years ago. I gave up after season 3 or maybe 4 because I was tired of the freak-of-the-week stories, amoung other things. I came back last season for the Hawkman/ Doctor Fate episode and decided to watch season 10, hoping they'd finally give us Superman.

This is the type of episode I have been waiting for. I totally enjoyed this episode. If only they could have done 10 seasons of this.
  19. Yeah, I remember that show. I enjoyed it. Crossed over with the Night Man for one episode.
  20. Thanks.

Well, I guess with inherent Fitness on the horizon, that'll give me the fighting pool sooner rather than later. We'll see how that helps.
  21. As they title suggests, I just can't get a handle on shileds. I have tried multiple characters and currently have a level 29 brute for whom shields is a good thematic defense, but even though I know a number of people who love shields, I have yet to find a way to make them work. I can usually handle most things that they game throws at me with my tanks and brutes, but with shields, all it takes is an orange boss and yellow lieutenant to wipe the floor with me. As it stands now, I am slotted thus (All SOs, no IOs)

Deflection: 3 Defense Buffs, 3 Damage Resist
True Grit: 3 Heal, 3 Damage Resist
    Battle Agility: 3 Defense Buffs
Active Defense: 1 Attack Rate Increase
Against All Odds: 2 End. Reduction
    Phalanx Fighting: 1 Defense Buff

A typical fight has me popping Insp like candy. I am not sure if the issue is with me expecting too much from this set, or what. Usually by this point, my melee characters wade through enemies with little difficulty.

    Thoughts?

I seem to remember an episode that may have been set somewhat in the future, where someone commented on Data looking older and he said he was changing his appearance to match his human colleagues.
