  1. You know.... keep going with these threads and I'm gonna have to come up with some cash to buy that thing...

    I haven't done too many trials yet, so I can't say too much about it, but this statement struck me as odd. Why were you logging in before? Assuming you played your level 50 before the Incarnate stuff came out, what were you doing? Why can't you still do that and the occasional trial?

    Me, I play because I love my characters, enjoy being a superhero and have friends here that I enjoy playing with no matter what we are doing. Maybe that puts me in the minority, because I am really surprised at how much (female dog)ing is going on over I20... To me, it lays the groundwork for a lot of cool stuff to come. I am perfectly happy with that. Judging by the reactions of a number of people, though, I think they should have waited to release it for another 8-10 months so that they could put in a few more trials, or other content. That way, perhaps fewer people would be complaining.
  3. Ok, so I am still working on my Alpha slot and I have a question, because something really doesn't make sense to me.

    Presently, I have the Musculature Total Radial Revamp. I want to go to the next level and get the Musculature Radial Paragon. I was looking at what I need to get it and was pretty surprised. Aside from the various other components, it lists the pre-requisite of Partial Radial Revamp. Looking at partial Radial, it says I need Radial Boost (which I bought for Total Radial, but I seem to no longer have it).

    So, my basic understanding is this:

    To get Radial Paragon I need to:

    * Buy Muscular Boost ( a 2nd time)
    * Buy Radial Boost (a 2nd time)
    * Buy Partial Radial Revamp

    **THEN**

    * Buy Muscular Boost (a 3rd time)
    * Buy Core Boost
    * Buy Partial Core Revamp

    Is this correct? That's how it looks. Just when I thought I was making some progress...

    Indeed. And I hate Hulu.
  5. Gave up after the mid-season break. Got tired of the father's refusal to make any attempt to conceal his identity and the general stupidity of most of the characters.

    I almost went back to it, but then just never bothered. Best character was the bad guy who was dating the mom's assistant (don't remember anyone's names right now).
  6. I'm having the same issue.

    I deleted one character and went to remake him, only to see that the slot was locked.

    On the plus side, where I previously had 1 slot redemption available, I now have 8. They don't really need to fix that part...
  7. Huh.

    Never heard of it.

    Sucks not having TV sometimes.
  8. Hmm... Looks good. Better than I expected. Will be checking it out for sure.
  9. Yep, I agree it looks much better.

    But I really, really hate that mask. It makes his eyes look like they've sunken into his head and his nose looks far too long and pointed.
  10. I started reading this without checking the date and saw "update to epic pools"... Kind of threw me off for a sec.

    Anyhow, nothing really to contribute, just thought I'd pop in before the lock.
  11. Sentinel Prime?

    I still think it looks like Alpha Trion.

    As much as I like Alex Ross, I always find his version of WW looks transgendered.

    It was Ernie Reyes Jr.

Stories coming out of the aether, story arcs existing with no backstory, no build-up and no lasting point, shoddy writing, railroading plots... I have to wonder how much of a crap anyone on the development team gives about this game's story at all, to say nothing of games as an artistic medium. This approach that "Story is just an excuse to punch things." and "You can just pretend it didn't happen." has the potential to erode one of the core principles of what makes City of Heroes great.
    This post and your next one are both excellent and I only hope that the devs see them and take them into consideration with whatever they plan to do next.

    Thor!

    Looks ok. Will probably check this out.

    Same.

    She looks cute, but I also am hoping they'll have her dye her hair.

    I don't care that she's older than Clark, but if they are planning on doing a series, I hope she doesn't start showing her age after the first film or two.
  17. I actually have a question about the new version. I picked it up, but only skimmed it because my usual gang had stopped playing by that point and also because I just didn't like the revised setting.

    Anyhow, my question concerns Generation. As I understand it, vampires now advance through Generation as they age, as opposed to having it be decided by how far they are from Caine. I think that part is ok. What I don't like is that as a vampire gets too old, they have to voluntarily enter Torpor to thin their blood, waking up after a time at a lower Generation. They lose access to their higher-level Disciplines and abilities, with everything dropping to the "normal" maximum of 5. I can understand that, but what bothers me is that it seems that as the character's Generation advances again, he has to re-buy the lost Disciplines and abilities.

    This bothers me for 2 reasons: 1) you can spend months or years saving up and spending XP to get high-level powers, then have to basically start over because your character got too old and 2) this means that a 300 year old vampire could be much more powerful than a 9,000 year old vampire who woke up from Torpor 2 centuries ago. That doesn't make much sense to me.
  18. I leaned toward Gangrel, myself.

    Can't believe it's been this long since it came out. I have many, many good memories from playing Vampire (and the others).

    I remember being at my first job and using the work phone to call long distance down to Georgia (??) and talking directly with the creators, chatting about Disciplines and how everything worked. You could stay on the phone quite a while with them happily discussing their game and connecting with their new fans.

    So.... if you can't go to the convention, you're SOL?

    I have to admit though, that I am not sure what jobs she has held.
  21. One of the last few remaining movie stars.

    RIP

    If that's the legit script... I will cry.
  23. That re-coloured version is nice. I prefer the darker pants, but the top can stay a bit lighter. It's amazing how much of a difference the red boots make. I really hope they change them.

    As for the whole model-versus-bodybuilder thing... I'm gonna go with the more athletic look, myself. Sure, part of being a superhero means that you can be more than you appear. A slim teenaged girl in a comic might be able to bench press a cruise ship and that's fine-- possibly even cool depending on how it's done. But most people think of Amazons as physically fit, warrior women. Diana, as the top amazon, should look powerful. The best images that I have ever seen of Wonder Woman all have her looking tough, defiant and powerful. As someone here said in a different thread some time ago, yes, her bikini costume is crazy, but she wears it with such nobility, grace and strength that she is almost daring you to laugh at her so she can kick your butt.

    I don't think we need a bodybuilder to play her, but someone more... solid... could be nice.

    Also: Callisto was hot.
  24. I'm also in the red boots camp. Also, while I haven't yet seen the episode of Smallville with Wonder Lois, I think that her version beats this official one (and also seems to have taken inspiration from this):

    Edit to add:

    I am glad that they at least are brave enough to go with bright colours. When I heard the concept of the show has her as a "vigilante-by-night", I assumed she'd be in black and probably wearing a trenchcoat, so I'll at least give them points for using a costume.

    Still, I forsee one season, tops. Probably be cancelled after 6 episodes, unless it's actually good, in which case it'll be cancelled after three.
